Hope everyone had a good weekend. I also hope for everyone that all unanswered questions have been answered; tough decisions have been made; appointments were positive; treatment is what you think is right for you; and first time treatments were scary but seen through. This is what I prayed for us all this weekend.

Got my insurance straightened out. Thought I was going to have to let my roid rage fly!!!! Got my second round to chemo yesterday. Not too bad; just a little tired. Hope I won't be a Cheese Head of the Month this second time around. :) Latest development other than going increasingly BALD, I have now joined the ranks of those who have boldly gone before me in facing- menopause. Now I am horrmonal as well. Great.

Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone.

    What's wrong with being a cheesehead?
    Glad you got your insurance situation settled, P. The last thing anyone needs when they're fighting the beast is a fight with an insurance company.

    But there's nothing wrong with being a bald Cheesehead: I've been a Cheesehead since I was born and a baldy since my late twenties. And I still conned Moopy into marrying me!

    Insurane companies
    Yes Insurance companies are buggers--I went and had a prescription filled 90 day supply--My cost $118.00---but get this if I get a 30 day supply my cost $10.00--well I got a 30 day supply. This saves me a **** load of money that I can put towards other things--like Jake's school supplies and uniforms.

    I don't understand. I am glad that I understand the insurance and ask questions because others might have just paid the $118.00.

    Maybe I should go into business for myself to help others understand their policies and explanation of benefits from the company. I have saved family members a lot of money--never saw any money coming my way---maybe I need to charge them, family members, for my services.

    P, thanks for your prayers: your list just about covered it all. Speaking of covered, I also am glad that your insurance issue was resolved happily for you. In my case, I did have to let some rage through.

    I like your baldly, boldly going forward. I'm experiencing chemo-induced menopause as well. Hot flashes often, but never when needed, like in a cold building, or lying half-naked on a table. You'd think, just once...!

    Oh, by the way, you will one day sooner than you think find yourself becoming increasingly hairy.

    Thank you for praying for us this weekend. And I am glad you got your insurance straight. Boy oh Boy, I know how unnerving that can be. I am also glad that chemo is going OK.

    Yes. The sweats are the pits but you know even in the AC I still sweat my buns off. I have been using a portable fan that squirts water as well. I cool my bald head and that helps.

    When I got my shot today, the Doc gave me a script for a patch you put on once a week to control the flashes. You should get this.

    Speaking of hair....I am going bald but the hair on my upper lip and my gotee on my chin still remain. Ain't that a B. :)

    Glad your treatment wasn't that bad. My second one is Thursday. guess that means I am next to be bald. When did yours start falling out?

    Hope your session goes well. My hair started falling out by week #3 after first chemo session. So right about the time for my second chemo session. Not to scare you but I had quite a bit of hair, always have even as a baby. It started falling out in strands and then it started falling out in chunks likes a birds nest. It was traumatic for me. I felt like crying for a couple of days and mourned the loss of my hair but you can't do anything about it. So I pulled up my boot straps, put on a cap, and went out into the world. My co-workers felt sorry for me but fought to show it. My boss, who is male, almost cried. He is a sweetheart. My Mom really made me feel good. She held my head in her hands, gently kissed me, and said, 'I will always love my little bald eagle.' I sored. She does this everyday before I go to work. You got to love Moms. They know all the right things to say.

    You can get caps, scarves, wigs etc. right on this website. Or you can shop around at any hair care place. Try to have you items on hand before your hair falls out so that you are not scrambling to hide your head. Choose what is right for you and what makes you feel comfortable. There is this woman at my cancer center who wears her bald head as bold as you please. I ain't that bold.
