My head's maiden voyage...

Well...this weekend i decided...no more hats. Bailey, my wig, has long been on her stand. It's just too hot to wear her right now, felt like wearing a ski hat in summer. But this weekend, decided, to heck with it. Even tho i look like a combination between a poorly watered chia pet and an alian, ta da!!!! a little dab of gell, and i have a few tiny curls in the back, and the tiniest of baby sprigs on top. My hair did come back in completely snow white, but i did choose to color it a med. blond just to make myself feel better, and was not told i shouldn't. My head feels a tad cooler, but i will adjust. Saturday, i first went to a wedding shower, naked....then church...naked...and now...work...NAKED!!! and so it begins...the tiniest of baby steps back into the real world!
woo hoooooo!!!!
ps
i still tend to forget that i am "naked" and take myself off guard when i see myself in the mirror lol

Good For You! I am impressed
Good For You! I am impressed that being in Sacramento, you were able to wear a wig as long as you did! LOL My family also lives in Sac'to, and I know it's HOT there a lot of the summer! ( My brother was the channel 10 News anchor in Sacramento for almost 30 years) and my sister and her hubby live in Elk Grove, as do various and sundry nieces and nephews, so I know your weather very well! I know it was a relief to put that wig on a stand an leave it there! Whooo Hooo for you!
It is so funny when our hair comes back in, isn't it? I kept rubbing my fuzzy head all day long~ hoping it was a Genie's Bottle and I would get three wishes! LOL
So, way to go, and enjoy your naked self! :-)

Good for you. Baby steps
Good for you. Baby steps will still get you to the finish line and besides it's not a race. Funny about the being taken off guard. My grandma used to say that about aging. She would be walking down the street and see her reflection in a window and wonder who that old woman was. It would always make us laugh when she would ask us who that old lady was looking back at her. Thanks for bringing back that memory for me. And congrats on the return and renewing of your hair.

Naked and back to nature!! Doesn't it feel good to be all natural??? (:-) Pammy
I am happy for you that you are now comfortable to go naked.
I have been naked since the day I shaved my head. I was very comfortable--I know that others aren't and it can take some time.

Glad you decided to take the plunge, feels great doesn't it? In this heat I would think a wig would be horribly hot. And the mirror thing never goes away, I was always startled by my appearance, looked like a little old man.
I'm with you Margo, never cared to put anything on my head unless I was sitting under the AC, otherwise, bald.

yay!
Congrats on your hair coming back.
I loved your description.. "poorly watered chia pet and an alien" That made me smile!
Mine is just falling out and I buzzed it to 1/4" today. It feels great in the heat. I have a few hats that I will start wearing this week. One is hot pink/baby blue and covered with SPARKLES! You just have to have fun with this insanity, you know?
Be PROUD with that short baby hair! WOO HOO!0
