    Never
...it's the "never doing it again" thing that I'm hung up on!!! It's probably the one thing that could trip me up.

    Staying focused & busy -

Yeah, I'm still in. I might kill someone soon, sigh, will just have to request a smoke-free cell.
Shame, what a horrible thought. Going through all of this and being in jail as well.
I guess there is always something to be grateful for.

Sorry I'm late, But I'm still in !!!!!!!!!
I know I haven't checked in for a couple days, So let me get you all caught up.

    1. Bad day Friday starting with my mom, smoked 2 or more cig's
    2. Had true meltdown with mom on Saturday (fill you in later)
went and bought smokes on Saturday.
    3. Got mad at myself on Sunday , finished pack, and reset my sights on Monday
    4. First day back to work (was saupposesd to go back on last Thrusday another long story)
put patch on and doing good so far.

Well that's about it, I found a friend to quit with me at work, which will help alot. What's funny is that here in California we have a law against everything, so you can't smoke hardly anywhere, which includes most public places like resturants, businesses, parks, beaches etc. But believe it or not at work we have our own smoke lounge, that's separate from everywhere else. Needless to say a person builds a form of bond with the people you smoke with everyday. So it's tough to stay out of there, but now that I have one of my fellow smoking/break buddies quiting with me, I won't have to eat and talk to strangers (haha) from the "other" lounge. What's ironic is that my quiting buddy at work is also a BC surviver, maybe that's why she was so easy to get to say yes.

Well that's all folks, glad to hear everyone else is on track.

Tj my props go out to you, you've given us all inspiration to keep this thing on track,
    Thanks

    God Bless you all

    Aurora

Do you mind if I join in on
Do you mind if I join in on this? I am a IVA cervical in remission since Dec. '08. Been seriously thinking, just thinking, of putting thses stinky things down. Started experiencing intermittent L sided chest pain with it radiating down my left arm. Was very stubborn about going to see the doc...I've had my fulfillment of them for a life time, but the pain got so bad and other symptoms appeared that I finally broke down and made the call. Was diagnosed with pulmonary obstruction yesterday...walked out with a handfull of scripts, one of which was Chantix. After just one dose of all the inhalers I woke up with only mild chest pain and able to breath so much better. Today I take my first dose of Chantix. I know this is not going to be easy, I pray for my husbands safety, but breathing freely is really kind of nice. Could use/give lots of support during this transition.
GOOD JOB AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU DURING THIS TIME:)

    HELP
Yesterday was supposed to be my start date, but for some reason, I just couldnt' do it. The first thing I picked up yesterday morning was a cigarette. I am very weak and need help to get started on giving it up for the rest of my life. The problem is, I enjoy my smokes, and I really don't want to give up something I like. HELP!!!!!!

    Already quit....
I quit 2 months ago so I won't really join you because I am too far ahead, but I will encourage all of you. It is not easy, but it can be done! I just plain decided that I didn't go through all of this treatment for BC to stay alive, just to kill myself from cigarettes!! I am healthier now than I ever have been in my life (other than pregnancies). I eat healthier, I am more active, I am watching my weight, and I am an ex-smoker!! Life is good!!
You will feel so much better 1 week from now, than 2 weeks, then 1 month. It's amazing the difference. Biggest bonus.....more money for retail therapy!!
I'm here cheering everyone on!! :(-) Pammy
