A/C repair
I don't know how we survived before A/C.
Certainly, Florida, Texas, Las Vegas would not be what they are today without it!
Don't you hate taking off work to handle that kind of stuff? Like we have all kinds of time off. HA! no time at all, really after 7 weeks off for surgery--using all the sick leave and 3/4's of the vacation time! Oh, wait, and I need time off for follow-up appointments....

Could not live with out the air right now going through Chemo. Hubbie is wearing winter coat around the house. OMG Have to have the air on all the time. Good Luck0 -
All Fixed
Turns out one of my neighbors is an A/C man! He fixed it and didn't charge me a dime, because he "knows how hard it is with cancer", his Mother has BC. How sweet of him. Turns out the coil was clogged and he used some kind of spray to clean it. Took him all of about 3 minutes. I gave him some money for the kids. Then my other neighbor came out and with me supervising, she cleaned out my shed. I can't believe all the stuff that's piled in there! Now you can fit a double bed in there - anyone looking for a place to rent???? hahahahaha

I would absolutely die without my air conditioning and I live in Wisconsin.
Hang in there

As soon as my siblings and I grew up and left the family nest in south suburban Milwaukee, Mom and Dad got central air. We joked that they did it just to make us mad, but they said we never really needed it living just a mile from the lake.
The month before I moved for good to the Missouri Ozarks, I bought a new '87 Escort from a Milwaukee Ford dealer. I decided not to get one with A/C because I considered it a luxury.
I spent the next seven years sweatily repenting my idiotic decision.0 -

Is it air conditioned?!?! LOL.
Pat - we are sisters in the bond more than we realized...my AC went out last week, too. Ugh. Mine will be out for awhile...we are a middle class family with breast cancer induced poverty, currently. So, it's been fans, fans, fans for us.
I'm SO glad your AC is fixed and how nice that your neighbor cleaned out your shed - what a wonderful neighborhood!

You and all your sibs HAD to move out so that your parents could finally afford AC!
My parents, aunts & uncles, speak of days LONG gone by... Walking to our Lake Michigan shore, with blankets & pillows, to sleep along the breezy shore on the hottest of hot and humid summer nights. Way before AC existed. Not kidding!
Kind regards, Susan0 -

Glad your AC's fixed. And really glad you have such nice neighbors!

Glad your A/C got fixed. Sometimes I think I'm too spoiled because I have such luxuries these days such as A/C (added on central air when I bought the house 19 years ago). Now I am waiting on Insurance company to make appointment for estimate from the hail damage a couple weeks ago. Got my roof good, chipped paint off my house all over. Put hundreds of dents and dings in one of our cars. I think I am really being tested!! Pammy0 -
