Board Confusion
I'm still getting used to the boards here, lack of attention to detail, chemo brain, unexpected funk (and rebounding) and all. Please forgive me if I'm asking obvious questions but I have not been able to find the answers:
1 - What is the story with the "Friends" and "Friend Of" areas and what is the difference between the two?
2 - In the conference call post, I noticed that several people are not receiving emails and some were surprised as though everyone should be. Are you referring to emails/messages via this site and if so, where is the email/message area?
3 - Is there a general area or help link that I have missed regarding general board information (such as details about the "Friends" and "Friend Of" categories) that would help someone navigating the site?
4 - What are the conference call details...is it for ACS or is it for BC boards and are there delegates or is it open to everyone?
5 - Is there any way to search all the posts from individuals? If not, that would be a feature. So, for example, if you remember "abcdefg" is going to have surgery next week and then cant remember the day he/she said, you could go back & search her posts specifically.
Sorry for all the questions. In a "dense chemo fog"!
KC

Thank you, KC for asking these questions. And please don't apologize -- I'm not even on chemo yet, so I can't blame chemo fog, and *I'm* clueless on a lot of what you've asked!

Welks!

These are entirely valid questions
Sorry that I can't help with the "friends" bit - I'm sure someone else could explain that far better than I. But I can take a shot at a couple of other things:
1) The terms "message" and "email" seem to be used interchangeably. CSN itself calls the messaging system "Email." However, anyone who registers for a CSN account has to supply a "real" email address (like aortus@aortus.com).
2) There was a "real" email sent out by Greta, who is the CSN coordinator, to members of this board who post frequently and/or have been here awhile. If you did not receive such an email, it's probably because you were fairly new or maybe not even here when the emails were sent out. I am certain that Greta welcomes any and all input from any of all users of this board, and that the conference call is open. You might send her a CSN "email" message: her handle is (surprise) Greta.
3) The individual post search function does not exist, but it is an excellent idea. I want to post a list of ideas sometime this weekend, and if it's okay, I'd like to include yours (giving full credit, of course). It really would be a welcome addition.
Best,

Figured Out I Think...
I think I have the friend thing figured out...after messing around with the site messaging system, I'm thinking that "Friends" would be who you add to your messaging list...and "Friend of" would be who has added you?!?!
...is that about right?0 -
