Update on Me
But here is a brief update:
I have completed 7 of 9 chemo treatments, changed ONC, taken a couple of long weekend trips with hubby, enjoyed watching the new sonic get built in nearby Waukesha, resolved to allow foreclosure on our 2 year old house (hubby is in sales that have not weathered recession very well and I am grateful for disability insurance...and reprioritizing like crazy!), daughter announced a second grandbaby on the way due in Feb., she is a great single mom who has already given me one beautiful reason to keep going so we are excited but a bit scared for her, she is moving into a 3 bedroom townhouse with us. I think it will be a good thing for her, for me, for our little 1.5 year old princess Jordan...who is seemingly unencumbered with her grandpa wrapped around her little finger!
So no job, no house, bald bloated but breathing....the best part...the DOC pronounced me STABLE! By mid september I will be hopefully done with chemo (not a canidate for any surgical procedures but primary tumor has shrunken considerably) Not quite dancing with NEDs but looking forward to a long run with the STABLE boy!! Scans every 90 days and oral Femara will be my immediate future.....future!!!
Five of my sisters and I are going to Las Vegas in November to celebrate, drive up to Zion, and see Bette Midler in concert....in December taking hubby, daughter, grandbaby and wonderful son to the Keys for some R&R.
I have passed this site onto several women I have met along the way because this is the most caring funny loving quirky group of angels!!!
Sorry for going on...but good news is hard to contain.....

So happy to hear all your good news. I was just talking last night with a friend who is stage 4. Anyway stay positive and have fun on your trip!0 -
Jojo! How wonderful to see
Jojo! How wonderful to see your face, and read how well you are doing! I loved your sentence about not quite dancing with NED, but having a long run with the Stable boy! PERFECT! May I have your permission to "steal" it and use it now and again? I am famous for glomming onto quotes and sayings which are poignant( and funny) and this one certainly is!
It sounds that your life is full and exciting~ new grandbaby on the way, vacations, Bette Midler...the no house, no job and no hair part? Not so good, but you seem to be handling it with grace and dignity, and we hope all 3 return in record time!
You are a joy to read; we have missed you! Thanks for the update!
Hugs,

That is great news indeed! I am in awe of your amazing attitude - with everything you are getting through, you just keep going and enjoying life. I am proud to be your fellow Cheesehead!
It's people like you that keep us going strong. I read the posts everyday and thats what helps me get through my day. You and so many others here are just amazing. I thank God to have you here with me. You must not be to far from me if your going to Zion. Are you at the Wisconsin boarder. Husband is from Wisconsin. We spend a lot of time in Green Lake. Twin lake Wisconcin years ago, when much younger and could party.0 -
JoJo, thanks for posting
and giving us all a lift. You are an inspiration. I went to college in Illinois near enough to Wisconsin to take advantage of the lower drinking age then. Later lived in Nebraska and frequently crossed your state to get home taking different routes to visit Sheboygan , Green Bay, Oshkosh (they were my favorite overalls), and Eau Claire, etc (just out of curiosity). Wisconsin sure has some beautiful places. Lynn0 -

I vaguely remember that... I started drinking in bars when I was 17. I was born in Racine and grew up in the south 'burbs of Milwaukee; I moved out after I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 1982. My sister still lives in Sheboygan Falls; my brother and his wife just moved from the Green Bay area to Chippewa Falls, which is just north of Eau Claire. For my money, the Mississippi Valley between Prescott, WI and Dubuque, IA is the most beautiful place on God's earth.0 -
Running with the Stable Boy Now , and in Future
Jojo, it is so good to hear from you. Your spirit is just as unsinkable as always. Like RE, you do not let bc take your joy. Thank you for reminding me and all of us what is most important.
Las Vegas, Bette Midler, Florida Keys, babies...sounds wonderful. Please keep us updated as you have time. (Don't tell Joe, but getting out of WI during December is a great plan: I spent many Chrismases in the frozen tundra.)
p.s. We'll have to send you the royalties for Rads Stink. Running with the Stable Boy is a great title...maybe a song there, too.0 -

...I had forgotten the name. Joe, we may have crossed paths! I am probably 8 or 9 years older than you, so you would have still been in grade school.... xoxoxo Lynn0 -

...that my beloved wife once got into her head that she wanted to attend a Green Bay Packers home game over Christmas vacation.
Never mind that Moopy is a Southern Belle to the core, and that her first words were "Ooooossshhh! I'm cold! I was going to have to pay some scalper through the nose just so she could freeze her cute little derriere off in the nosebleed section (or, if you're from Wisconsin, the Bob Uecker seats) watching a December 23 game against Buffalo.
I tried reasoning with her. I tried pleading with her. Ultimately, we were saved by my little sister, who told Moopy she'd need to 1) wear thermal underwear and battery-powered socks; 2) wear a snowmobile suit over her clothes; 3) wear plastic garbage bags over the snowmobile suit; 4) drink a pint of peppermint schnapps - and maybe Moopy might make it through the first half. But probably not.
I still tease the Moopster about it to this day.0 -

So glad to hear this good news. And the trade off of the home to having the grandkids with you is okay. They do bring such joy and it only grows more with time.
Glad you are running with STABLE.

Thanks for the update. You are amazing. As I read your post, with all you are experiencing, I sense an inner strength about you that resonates in your photo. You are lovely sitting there with I assume your honey...or is it the stable boy?? That gave me a giggle. And Bette Midler in the fall....oh, what a fun time that is gonna be with your sisters.
Keep the Joy~~you too are one of the quirky angels ya know....0 -

Happy to hear from you JoJo, glad things are stable that is wonderful to hear indeed! I saw the photo's you posted on the expressions page, very nice thank you for sharing them. We went to the Keys in 99 after my year of chemo, we had a blast! Vegas sounds good too, we are planning a trip in 2010 with family.
Many Hugs,

Hi Jojo....
Vegas and the keys, wow, you have some wonderful plans to look forward to in the future. You are an amazing inspiration. I can't even make plans past next week!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your losses, but even though we may not see it right away, when one door closes another opens. Sometimes I think the only way we will look for another door to go through is to have that familiar one shut behind us. Heck, mine always seem to slam!!! After I beg, knock and plead to get back in, I eventually give up and move on. Sounds like you are doing that and I am glad for you.
Hang in there and keep us posted. Pammy0 -
Hi, JoJo!
Happy to hear from you, and thanks a bunch for your update!
Lots of good news, though tempered by some not-so-good. Your current health status is the very best - and most important - news of all! You GO, girl!
You have much to look forward to. Take care.
Best wishes, and...
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I really like how you said that! You are so right...you get pushed through the door, spend lots of time trying to get back in...and then move on....

God Bless You JoJo
Thank you for the update Jojo. I'm sorry for all of the trials you have been facing lately, but I am so thankful to hear about you and the stable boy! You just keep hanging on to him while you continue to live your life to the fullest! It sounds like you have some great plans ahead and a wonderful family to share both the good and the bad.
I am in the Grafton area so if you ever need someone to talk to, let me know. It could be my only excuse to get to that new Sonic.
You will be in my prayers!
