Every Day is a Blessing
Mixtymotions,
Congratulations on your good news!!! Celebrate away! Each day may not always bring good news (cancer is a real sneaky player sometimes), but for today, you are blessed! Enjoy it, and share that positive emotion with the friends and family around you!

Celebrate regardless
Hi, Cynthia -
I assume that by "initial pathology," you mean the tests done during your surgery, is that right? I'm new to the board, so forgive me if I'm a little behind -- your profile says that you just had your surgery yesterday? If that's correct, then you should -- right now and at the very least -- celebrate getting that surgery over and done with!
I also had lumpectomies and sentinel node biopsies, on both sides, on June 11th. I'm sure your surgeon told you that there's a chance that the final pathology could disagree with the during-surgery pathology, either regarding the margins or the sentinel node(s). But I can tell you that my surgeon got my final pathology 5 days after my surgery, and it all agreed with the initial pathology -- nice, pretty, clear margins and negative nodes.
So I will hope for the same for you. In the meantime, absolutely go ahead and celebrate where you are now, and take good care of yourself post-surgery. Did your surgeon tell you when he/she would have the final pathology?

And so far you've had some very good news. Not to mention the surgury is over, you'll probably get the final pathology report, about 4-5 days after surgury like Traci said, but they get a pretty good idea of what's giong on during surgury and if thry already told you that your nodes were clean then that's great news!
Congratulations, on this first mile stone, and welcome to a wonder place to come for understanding and support, please come back often and share you juorney with us, You'll be glad you did.
May God Bless You Always

Wait, wait for me -- I'm a Pepsi girl too, would hate for you to drink alone, KC!
Toasting to Mixtymotions' good news!

Welcome, mixtymotions
Good news. So, celebrate - go ahead. Surgery = done, which is a big step.
You describe "initial" pathology - final pathology will determine recommended next steps.
Again, welcome.0 -
Go ahead and jump!!
No you are not jumping the gun!! Anytime you have cause to celebrate...do it!! I look for any reason to celebrate (which is daily it you visit this board everyday!!). I'm one of those people that will use her good china for no reason. Why save it for a few days out of the year? I want to enjoy it as often as I can. I am worth it to eat pizza off the prettiest best dishes I own, so why not? I wear my prettiest dress up jewelry with jeans or use often anything that is saved for "special occasions" only. I believe in celebrating life!! So, go ahead....feel good....celebrate!!! Pammy0 -

Pammy, did you know that since I joined, every single time I come upon, or am fortunate to receive one of your posts, my monitor actually smiles (and then, of course, I do, too). Yup. It's your contagious gift :-) :-) :-)

Then I have done what I wanted to do, make people smile. It is one thing I have to offer that does not cost a thing!! It is a gift the Lord gave me and I will do my best to always use it for the good of someone else. Thank you. I'm glad I made you smile. Pammy0 -

Just wondering if you've received any final pathology report info yet?
Been thinking of you!
