Al back in the hospital

Hey all,

I had to take Al to the ER last night it seem that he has what they thought was c-diff, but now there not sure whats going on. All of the cultures are negative, which is good
and they are keeping him hydrated since he is having all of the bouts of diarrhea. I know
that they are doing the best the can.

Last week it was pneumonia and then we find out that it probably wasn't pneumonia.

I'm am frustrated and angry. Al is being treated by one of the best esophageal ca Dr's in the country. I can't imagine what goes on with other people who aren't as fortunate as we
are.

They are still holding his chemo until they figure out what is going on. I think this is a good thing so that he can get more strength back.

They did say that it looked like the primary tumor is shrinking which is the silver lining
to all of the recent clouds.

    Keep your chin up, you will get through this. My husband just had esophogeal cancer surgery and holding his own but doing the best he can. we had stage 2 adenocarcinoma esophogeal cancer, but we have come so far, All I can say is you have to stay strong, you can have your crys but you will have to have them when you are not around him. My husband is holding his own right after surgery, but i have had my tears my heartaches and my prayers to GOD, trust me you can only take it one day at a time.

    I am so sorry to hear that Al has had to go back to the hospital again. He's had a heck of a go of it lately, hasn't he? You are right though, the fact that the tumor is shrinking is definitely the silver lining! Keep looking at the positive, and keep your chin up. There are always rough patches along the way. I always like to say that "life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain." I think with EC, it is something we have all had to learn as we've gone along this crazy road, we learn to accept the bad moments, but embrace all the good!

    My thoughts and prayers are with you, and I hope Al is up and going soon!!!
