LATE roll call: weekend plans?!
This weekend looks uneventful for me. The gym tomorrow morning, then grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and watching movies/reading. I do want to see that new rom com "The Ugly Truth." Seems harmless and pretty enough.
So, now your turn: Weekend plans?!

My weekend
Relaxing and watching movie and eating popcorn with Jake.
Tomorrow morning--get ready for the Birthday Party with 8 kids--7 more than last year.
Tomorrow afternoon--party and then crash in the evening.
Sunday--Church and then maybe a cookout.
Back to work on Monday.
Mimi,
Since I have been on vacation this week I thought today was Saturday and your post was REALLY late but then I remembered it was Friday. I am forgetting a lot of things lately-like ice cream for the party--I'll run and get that tomorrow morning--I've written it down on a sticky and put it by the front door so I won't forget. This chemo brain thing really sucks. I hope it gets better instead of worse.
Margo
P.S. Retail therapy for Jake this afternoon--more birthday gifts that he REALLY wanted.0 -

Yay! Summer is busy. We're happy to have this weekend free of commitments. We'll decide as we go, do what we want.
Got the grocery shopping out of the way today. (NOT Retail Therapy!)
To everyone - enjoy yours, no matter what you do.
Mimi - Special thanks for starting this thread each Friday. :-)
Kind regards, Susan0 -

I love 'em, and this is my first Saturday off in nearly 4 months!...I'm going to lurk about town and go to every garage sale there is, and fill Bumble up with all sorts of kelter!
Then I'll come home and sunbathe and relax, get drunk and fall in the fish pond by 8pm!
Sunday.. Unload Bumble... and as above...
Hugs to you all Jxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Be careful to fall on your back in the pond. Don't want you swallowing the fish.

Ok, joking! But, it isn't like you. We hear from you so seldom that when we expect you to, and, you don't post, we get worried about you! But, you have just been busy I see. And, that is good, right? lol
Saturday: Hubby and I are going down to our cabin at the lake again. It is suppose to be beautiful here and we are looking forward to boating some. ( and, he tanning grrrr ) Probably cook out something delicious for dinner and have a few beers while we sit outside and watch the stars. We had some friends that wanted to come down for Saturday, but, hubby spoke up and said NO. Come Sunday, he said, Saturday is for just the two of us. OOLALA! That's my MAN!
Sunday: Some of our friends will be coming down. ( if hubby didn't scare them too much with his gruff voice lol ) They love to boat, swim, ski, get drunk. lol We always have a good time with any of them.
Well, think that does it! Looking forward to a great Saturday at the lake with my love, and, Sunday, spending time with some of our good friends!
Wishing all of you a great weekend! And, thanks again MIMI! Love this post!

Margo, I am glad it is not Saturday yet! Really looking forward to having a relaxing weekend. I have that awful chemo brain, too. That's part of the reason it took me so long to write that speech today. Just couldn't remember stuff, and had to keep looking up our program rules and such. Thank god for internet or I would be out of a job!
Have a great time hosting Jake's birthday tomorrow. Don't forget that ice cream!0 -

Grandson is coming for a sleepover. Always a fun time. Might go to the Fair and see my niece show her goats.
Stef
That is so cool, Stef. Just what makes a good show goat? I've always wanted to do stuff like that, but I live in an urban area so not much chance of goat rearing. Sounds fun.0 -

Wow, that sounds heavenly once again, Jeanne. I wish we had such a lake cabin.
I know that my posting volume has gone down. I'm not sure what it is. I just feel slower these days. It's all I can do to get my work done, plus get in a handful of posts a day. I know I miss tons of stuff that I would have liked to respond to. But know that I care deeply about all of you. And thanks so much for responding to this post every week. You have no idea how much I love to read about everyone's weekend plans.

Are they still in Holland? Yes, Kathi, chime in when you can. They're probably off in some fantastic location, living it up!

Well, I am not totally positive. I think that like dog shows, they look for what best represents that breed of goat. A meat goat is judged differently than a dairy goat. They look at how they are built, coats, how they are presented and shown. She raises both and shows both. She is 15 and has been doing this a long time. She does very well. At the Dixon May Fair last year, her meat goat was grand champion (they sold her for a good sum of money at the end of the fair). Then she went into this competition where each of the kids that won grand champion for their animal(cow, sheep, goat, pig, and I think one other animal) shows each of the other animals. So she had to take a cow, sheep, goat, pig and walk them in the ring, present them etc. Not easy to do, because each animals is shown differently and reacts differently. They are all judged and whoever shows them all the best gets a beautiful engraved belt buckle and I forget what the title is, maybe Overall Grand Champion. Anyway, she won. She belongs to 4H and at her high school Future Farmers of America. She aslo does presentations (these are boards about a specific topic) and speeches for 4H. Her little sister raises chickens and has been doing very well also. They both do baking and photography for the fair and they do well there also. The whole family is very involved in this. Her mom teaches photography for the 4H and dad is the all around helper. I, myself, am not much of a livestock person but love to support them in this. My daughter, was and is into more of the fine arts. But that is a tale for another day.

Hey Mimi! Good to see this post! We ALL expect it, you know. Sorry to hear that you are slower these days. Maybe you are just doing too much? Need a vacation maybe! Yea, that is it! lol
Well, Saturday, we are going to some friends for a big pool party. I imagine it will be a drunken, silly full day. But, fun! lol
Sunday, probably we will just lay around here or do some work outside. Mainly, resting from the "pool party". lol
Have a good one everyone!0 -

I think we are going out for pizza with some friends on Saturday night. Just messing around during the day. ( wink )
Sunday is usually just watching movies inside if it is too hot, or, outside messing around again. lol
Happy weekend all!0 -
No apologies Mimi!!
As much as we love to hear from everyone regularly, I think that some of us are getting busy with life and thats a GOOD thing!! It means that there is life after BC!!! I dread the day I go back to work because I know how much time I spend on the boards now and there is no way I can keep up the way I would like to. Boohoo....
On a happier note....ummmm....well....let me think....ummm...hmmmm, hubby working tomorrow, soooo maybe I don't have any plans other than possibly church Sunday. Haven't been there in about a month and I think it is time to get my butt moving before rads kills it again!!

Sunday, my sisters and I are spending the afternoon at the casino. My bad!!

Saturday, we will sleep in late, as usual. Not do much until we get ready to go out. Going out to dinner and maybe a movie. Haven't picked one out yet though.
Sunday, just enjoy the day doing whatever. No big plans. Just a lazy, crazy day together!
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Our date tonight
Moopy and I took the pups to the doggie park yet again this evening. It was so humid that almost all of us dog owners wound up standing in the shade of a building... as did most of the dogs too! Our three had a good time anyway, and they came home exhausted. Yay!
I then took Moopy to dinner at a small, way out of the way restaurant in St. Charles. The Premiere Cafe on Second Street doesn't look like much from the outside - the owner himself admitted to us it was originally a Dairy Queen. But the food itself was awesome. Moopy enjoyed her salad and crab cakes; my filet was a meatatarian's dream. The ambiance was casually elegant and people (we were the only non-locals) talked across the tables. One guy pointed at the filet I was enjoying and said "I'll have whatever it is this gentleman is having."
The absolute high point for me was that Moopy took off her cap and went bareheaded in public for basically the first time since January. And as you would expect, she looked gorgeous, punk hair style and all. Just a wonderful night out.0 -

That sounds absolutely perfect. And yes, Moopy would be adorable no matter what. Happy to know you are a meatatarian. I love filet, the rarer the better. There are not many true carnivore's left in my family. I love beef (but I only have it once in awhile), I like chicken and I tolerate seafood (well, there is some I love). Again, I am so happy that you two had a wonderful night out.

This weekend we're traveling
This weekend we're traveling to the Dallas area for a concert by the old rocker Rod Stewart. I read that he still has bleached blonde, spiked hair and fits into his skinny jeans. While in the area we're touring the new Dallas Cowboys stadium (opens in the Fall), dinner at Pappadeaux (cajun seafood) and checking out a resort for future weekend trips. I love weekend trips!0
