Ohhh...I dont know board protocol. Was I supposed to start a new post for this or just put it on the end of the other one???

A lot of it was good news

Two small polyps were pre-cancerous

large polyp was non-cancerous

Now the results for the "unknown mass" that was an inch from my previous cancer. The one that he thought might be cancer. The one he lost? Be forewarned. You may want to curse after reading this.

The "biopsies" he did of that mass? He didn't biopsy it. The mass wasn't on the *inside* of the colon. All he did was biopsy the tissue of the colon itself.

I think people in other states could hear my scream of discust when I got that news.

    Hello!~
Hi Regslady! I think you did right by starting a new post. That way people will know right away that you have your results.

I can hear your scream, and feel it throughout my bones! First of all, congratulations on the semi-clean polyps! At least no chemo for those! I am very confused as to why he didn't biopsy the mass?? Was his only explanation because it wasn't inside the colon? Has he referred you to another doctor who WILL biopsy it??

    Don't you just love complacency?

    Hugs,
    Krista

    WTF?
How on earth can they say there was a mass outside of your colon if they were doing a colonoscopy? That just doesn't make any sense! Did you get a copy of your path report? When are you supposed to see the doctor? Go back and demand a full explanation and how in the hell they would know there was a mass outside your colon w/o a CT scan.
Makes no sense...but at least that big sucker was not a cancer. Whew! Now just a few more answers and hopefully you can rest easy.
I also still don't understand how they can think that you are having a recurrence 20 years later. That also makes little to no sense IMO.
    Best wishes,
    Susan H.

    This is only my personal,
This is only my personal, biased opinion...he didn't biopsy it because he is a doofus!

The problem with having someone else biopsy it is that it physically moved from where it was. He told me today that he brought in other doctors to review it and none of them could figure out what happened or where it might be. I know it doesn't make any sense but he showed me a picture where there definately was a mass there and then a picture when he went back and it was definately gone. He said he put a lot of pressure on it trying to biopsy it. Think it could have been attached to the outside? Think any of you could figure it out if I posted the pictures? Is this a bad enough mistake that they might be trying to circle the wagons to avoid a suit?

    I'm as confused as anything
They are doing the CT tomorrow morning. No copy of the path report yet...just the op report and the pictures from the colonoscopy

    CT should clear up questions
When they did my colonoscopy they were not sure of the mass either and the biopsy came back not cancer, but the CT showed a 3cm spot on my liver which they biopsied and it came back as cancer so I say get all the test you can and make sure you are sure and satisfied with the results , if you still question the Doctor get another test, and if insurance is giving you hell about paying( they did with me on my second opinion CTs Which I had a second Surgicial oncologist order and reveiw,) I just reached out to the doctors staff and they helped me help the insurance company see why i needed them and got them to approve them after all.

I am suppose to have an ultra sound also done of my mass in my rectum to see if it is thick walled or if there are any more masses behind it to see if they will add radiation to my treatment,
I am glad my doctors are all working together to make sure they know exactally what they are dealing with.
Maybe you should look into a new group of doctors if this one is not giving you the answers that make you trust he know what he is doing in your case.

    Sounds pretty good
Sounds like you got some pretty good news, but I certainly would be screaming, too, about that part that wasn't biopsied. What the heck? Hope you can get some good, clear answers on all of this.

    *hugs*

    Cancer center
I think you're right about them being doofus's. Are you going to a major cancer center? If not, i would definitely look into that. I don't know where you're located, but there are good cancer center's all over the place. You seriously need an oncologist or GI who knows what he's doing!

    Keep us posted!

    OK, here's the picture
Seems like there's plenty of reason for me to be confused about how this happened. I uploaded the relevant photos and the relevent sections of the op report. I think some of you are a lot smarter than some of the doctors...whatcha think?

    I commented.
Well, I posted what I thought. No idea if I am right or wrong, but at least it might give you some extra ideas to ask your doctor.
I hope you can get some peace of mind!
