EARLY roll call: weekend plans!! (Taleena are you still in town??)
So, the hubby and I will be seeing the new Harry Potter sometime this weekend. Very excited about this latest installment. I'll be looking forward to buying the boxed set when it comes out -- hopefully with some good extras, like a "making of" documentary.
I'm trying to get tickets to a new musical at the Kennedy Center called "Spring Awakening." I feel it's especially timely since I feel I'm just awakening after a long nightmare. We'll probably do a pre-theater menu for dinner if we do that.
Otherwise, it's the same thing: personal training on Saturday, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, reading, watching Netflix.
Oh, and a question, two of my friends got together and bought me a generous American Express gift credit card. They want me to do a night on the town or something like that. So, if you $250 to enjoy yourself, what would you do?? I need suggestions.
OK, now your turn: Weekend plans?!

Aw, the ole Weekend Plan Post! lol
I do love this thread Mimi! It is always so cool to see what everyone has planned and are doing. So, thank you again Mimi!
Saturday: Hubby and I are going shopping. Mainly, I need to find a paint color for my kitchen. I have wanted to paint it for a few months, but, can't seem to decide on a color yet. I am so sick of white. I have light to medium colored Hickory cabinets with a black and white floor, medium oak woodwork and crown molding, so, I think about any color would work. Any ideas anyone?
Saturday Night: One of my best girlfriends is having her 50th Birthday party at her house in the country. We can't wait. She has even hired a band to play and fireworks too. It should be an amazing, fun evening. Ok, how many beers can I have? lol
Sunday: If we aren't hungover, lol, we will probably take the Harley out for a ride. We haven't ridden in a couple of weeks and the weather is supposed to be beautiful. We usually just ride slow in the country. I get scared when he goes fast. lol I always have. I might pack a small picnic lunch and take it with us so that we can just stop anywhere and eat and take a break. We love doing this! And, I need to make sure I use my sunblock. My back looks great, I have a tan, but, my front is still milky white. lol Can't let the sun tan it, too new out of rads.
Ok, think that is it! Wishing all of you a great, fun and happy weekend!

Ohhh, a party at a country house! This is exactly the type of thing I love. A rustic location, elegant house, a band, a warm evening filled with stars. So, when should I be there?!0 -

Working Saturday, maybe go to the beach Sunday, or just Veg out here and sunbathe!
That sounds sooooooo boring, doesn't it?
OK: Here goes........
Friday night I am flying to Paris to have a long standing dinner date with George Clooney. Unfortunately I won't be able to spend the night as I have to be here on Saturday for the Premiere of My New Film: "50 Daft Sods Walking!"... Saturday night after the launch I am going clubbing in Toronto.
Sunday will be hectic, I'll go to the Drive-Thru Church and do a bit of genuflecting, then off to the Palace to collect my Medal of Modesty from Madge.
Whew, I'll be glad when the weekend is over!

I need to finish my window because we are going to Vegas next weekend, and I told them I was bringing the finished product. So, off to my playroom, where I will probably spend the whole weekend!
=^..^=
I think we are going to just to cook out Saturday night and cuddle up and watch some movies
at home. Popcorn is on the menu for later.
Sunday, we usually just work outside if it is nice and will probably cook out again. We do
love grilling. And, my hubby is the best at it! I think our best friends might come out to
eat with us and cook out. Just a nice day doing whatever!
Have a good one all!

What a nice thing for your friends to do Mimi! I hope you do something really fun with it..a day at the spa? and Jeanne what a fun party and Harley ride ! I'm jealous. Tash, if you have to back out i will go with George!LOL! Susie being with friends and cooking out sounds lovely, and Catn Viva Las Vegas! you lucky girl!! get them windows done.
As for me..what a bummer! my husbandgot tangeled up in Tootsie's leash and tumbled down the back steps. Now he has broken ribs and is much pain so i will be doing (or trying to do the things he has been doing for me...such as taking care and watering the garden, flowers and lawn. I usually love doing this but am still a little sore from my rad burns and really don't want to pull weeds or hoses. We'll see.
I aso will be doing church at the Nursing home again this Sunday, and then maybe my hubbie could sit in a fishing chair and watch me fish haha. Of course i will also have to take tootsie for a run in the badlands. Nothing exciting but great for me.

Major loafing at the Moopy & Aortus abode
Alas, we're not having any visitors up here this weekend. Sad, because we had such a blast with Moopy's big sister Jackie over the Fourth and another great time with her dad and stepmother last weekend. Guess we'll just loaf.
We are taking the three pups to the vet Saturday to get their regular "expressos." If you don't know what that means, believe me, you don't want to. Sunday, we might get one-day Metrolink passes and see St. Louis via light rail. If we're finished loafing: we are very serious loafers in this family.0 -

This weekend holds shopping, and farmers markets, visiting a friends lovely gardens (she has a really green thumb)and of course church on sunday. We have been burning up our week laughing like we were 12 year olds (we are not). Next weekend (24th) we fly to her home in phoenix and do it all over again--trading evergreen tree's for palm tree's. And shopping in all those stores that we don't have in the northwest.
I treasure the time with my sister. This trip she didn't have to play nurse to me~~

Hubby and I are going ( i am dragging him lol ) on a garden walk this Saturday. One of the small towns close by are having several private gardens open and I really love to see them. They are also hosting a nice luncheon which we ( he hates this kind of food lol ) are going to attend also.
Later in the evening, we will probably watch a MANLY movie. lol And, I will cater to his every whim as he is so sweet to do the garden walk with me.
On Sunday, we will just do whatever. No plans yet.0 -

YES - as a dog owner/lover... Unfortunately, I DO understand your "expressos" reference!
Believe it or not, many years ago our vet offered to teach me this technique - GROSS! Thanks, but NO thanks!
Geez.
Kind regards, Susan
P.S.: Your poor pups... So mortifying...0 -

But, Tash, how will you have time to go to the beach and sunbathe then? You should cancel with George. I've heard he has a bad track record with women anyway.
I love the film title. Can I write the screenplay? What should it be about?0 -

Your poor husband! And poor you for having to pick up the slack with your rad burns. Don't do too much, Jackie. Don't you have any kids around that can do the garden this weekend? Maybe you can just sit with a cup of tea and a good book and enjoy the view this weekend. Have fun.0 -

Margo, your plans sound wonderful -- happy last day of chemo!! It sounds like you will be relaxing and spending time with your son. Fantastic. Actually, I think it's good that you don't have 17 kids at the party. 4 sounds so much more manageable!

My weekend plans
My mother (who is not very supportive) has finally "fit me into her busy schedule" and is coming down from NY state, with my stepdad (whom I love), to visit for the weekend. My wonderful best friend and sister I never had, made bbq and hash, so we had something for lunch on Sat when they arrive. My son, who is 19, is planning to make cookies tonight because he just adores his Grama and Grandpa. I just had chemo Thursday so if she gets on my nerves I'll just "need a nap" and escape to the bedroom, where I will keep my laptop.
I do plan to do my weekly "meet for breakfast" on Saturday with my girlfriend and co-worker at Huddle House. We usually sit for 3-4 hours, talking/complaining about work, sipping coffee, now she smokes (I quit when I got my diagnosis in Mar 09), we chat with the waitresses and other customers we know and just enjoy a leisurely breakfast.
My husband is "working" Rebelfest for his motorcycle club, the Carolina Rebels, on Saturday when they are sponsering a bike bikini wash and a big band playing at a local club. I will probably get my parents to stop by for a bit to say hi to him when we go out and the sun is going down a bit (less hot). My husband is so sweet...he tells me that he doesn't care about the girls in bikinis, he would rather see me out there in one (I'm a size 18, 48 years old, one boob and bald from the chemo)....he says I would still be the sexiest woman out there!! I just love him so much...he's been my best support through all of this!!
Not sure what we're going to do on Sunday but we'll figure something out. We will probably take my parents out to dinner. I don't do much cooking anymore. By the time I'm done I don't much feel like eating it. I told my son to take them to breakfast or lunch with his girlfriend but don't know if that will happen.
Then they leave on Monday morning when my husband and I go back to work. I can think of more fun ways to spend a weekend. :-)
