I have Both
I have both IE6 and IE7. There are issues with IE7 for some older systems. We are not allowed to download IE7 because things get pretty crappy. Then again they have so many security features on the work computers.
I think IE7 works best with the Vista operating system.. That has been my experience. It has a bunch of new features that's good for techno-geeks (like me).
Google the advantages and disadvantages of IE7 for your operating sytem or the age of your system. There are some good forums out there. You can also google IE7 forums. Expeect some information overload.
How this helped somehow.

Wish I could help, but
I always call my son whenever I have a tech issue to help me. Being the sweethart he is, he always comes running instantly!! Gotta love him! But I don't know what I have. Laptop is only couple months old, so I 'm guessing IE7. He keeps me updated all the time. Wish I could help you better.Pammy

sorry. But I have no problems with it. there is actually a button to help upgrade sites that run on old browsers.
I guess it is just up to you whether you want to take the risk
=^..^=
Well, I did the upgrade and had oodles of problems...sites would not load, took too long, etc, etc. So I went back to my old stuff. But then again my computer is 9 years old. The newer ones should have no problems. Hope this helps. Cindy0 -

I upgraded and had problems (puter is 6 yrs old). My tech told me that I shouldn't have upgraded. I agree that the new ones shouldn't have any problems.0 -

Jeanne, I work for Chase Online, and IE7 does have compatibility issues with different sites. Actually, Firefox is my favorite. You can download it free at www.firefox.com or www.mozilla.com.
IE7 does have a lot of problems. I downloaded it, had way too many problems, got rid of it and got IE 6 back. However, my laptop came with IE7, and, it does ok, but, it was new too. I do use firefox sometimes too. It is a good brower!
Good luck, Kristin0 -
I have IE6 still too. Heardzahalene said:Definately...
Firefox.
But DO NOT attempt to delete IE.
It is embedded in so much of your computer's original make-up that deleting it creates 'black holes' in all kinds of places.
I have IE6 still too. Heard of all the problems with IE7 so I never downloaded it either.
I have firefox downloaded, but, I just use IE. Old habit I guess. lol

I still use IE6 and am not planning on updating.
IE7 has loads of problems yet.
So, if I were you, stick with your IE6.0
