Just got staged but have not met with the doctor to see the next step. From what I have read it could be chemo or radiation before I have surgery. We will see.

    hey just wanted to let you know that the people on this site are wonderful....Ask any questions you want because we have all been there and done that in one way shape or form...Make a list of questions for your doctor.Cause I know your life feels like it is spinning out of control right now..Stay calm and take one step at a time.......You can and will get through this....Lean on your family and friends as much as possible because you WILL need there help and support....Good luck and keep posting here.....................JULIE

    @Mac1212: welcome to the board. Yes, as Julie said, ask whatever you have in mind..it can sound stupid, embarassing, dump, but these people here are just more than awesome. Really. Turn back a couple pages, and you'll see they ask about ANYTHING! Literally! They ask from the most "common" questions to the most "weird" sounding questions. No one freaks out, someone have gone through the "weird" stuff, they respond what they experienced, what helped them, what definitely didn't. So, no feeling bad, or scared of asking. Go ahead! We are all ready here. I'm not a survival of cancer, but I had family member who had cancer, so gone through the whole process from the basic surgery, through chemo, through...basically, I could say everything that one can go through. I wish you all the best, very eager to hear the outcome of your "get-together" with your doctor, the results, and the next steps you are going to undertake. And although I'm not too experienced of answering to questions in general, but I'll be always in the background whispering prayers for you all, including you!

    Glad you found us, sorry you had to. My words of wisdom for you are ~stay OFF the internet~ it will scare the you-know-what out of you. Most everything is old and outdated. just ask here, these are very wise, wonderful, and experienced people.

    I am daydreamer/sherrie, stage IIIc, and a chemo survivor (been done for almost 2 months now).

    It's all going to be confusing, scary, overwhelming, and any other verbs you can come up with. Just keep in mind that it WILL get better, keep the attitude positive, once things get started and you know what you have to face it won't seem as bad as you thought it would (my experience anyway) So go ahead and ask away!

    Not what stage you are because you didn't mention, but it can mean the difference in treatment. You might have chemo/radiation before surgery and then have post chemo (mop up) if they got all the cancer during surgery. There are many treatments available to you depending on what stage or where the cancer is located. Good luck on progress.

    Sorry you had to find a great supportive group of people. They have helped me through many tough times. I hope your surgery/treatment goes well. My advise would be to take a minute to tell everyone to hush and you think it all through and YOU decide what you want to do. Take charge of yourself, your body and your treatment. (And jeez, there is some bad info on the internet as previously stated.)
