I am wishing you the best of luck. and keep us posted to what is going on. You will find the most supportive and courageous sisters here.

I totally relate to the cancer sucks mode of thought. I'm soooooooo ready to be through with the whole chemo thing, and I'm only into the 3rd treatment next week. Anyway, you'll definitely get some laughs if you wear the t shirt. As for the one's who'll be offended...
f*** 'em if they an't take a joke!lol0 -

Hi Kick-ca-****,
Obviously you have a great sense of humor. I've found that being able to laugh at yourself and at the craziness of this disease is one of the best ways not to let it kick YOUR ****!
I think I'd wear Jackie's pin before I wore the T-shirt (which I have seen advertised). But that's just me. When you really think about it, how can you not approve of those two words together in that order??? Around here, though, there are an awful lot of people who would still find it offensive, especially parents of younger children.
Welcome to the board. You'll find lots of support, love, laughs, and gentle hugs (I had a bilateral mst. w/reconstruction on May 6th, but I was blessed not to have any real complications...I am still in a sports bra, 'cause anything else is still too painful). There's nothing you can't say, and no way you'll ever feel alone again!
Take care,
Debi0 -

We welcome the fresh energy and you will find a huge mix of personalities to mingle with!! Glad you found us. I should warn you, however, that you are entering at your own risk as some people here will have you in stitches.....LOL Pammy0 -
Kick.....
Hello and welcome! Very happy that you found us, but sorry about your f*** cancer! LOL!!
Hang with us and you will find support and love. Also lots of laughs! And you will be able to give support to others who are just starting this journey.
Watch out for Tasha...she is British and she uses words that...well frankly, we aren't quite sure if they mean that she loves us or she is calling us all idiots. But we smile and ASSUME she is being kind. LOL!!
Hugs!

"This little inconvenience" ??
Now, that's the right attitude.
When you do start chemo, you'll probably have everyone cracking up. Have ever considered leaving nursing and pursuing stand-up comedy? I think you would be a hit...we have a few on the boards who keep us laughing. You will soon find out who they are, they are not the quiet ones .
Yeah, I think we all hear "hopeful" probably more than we would like from our med'l team. But, here on the boards, we talk about "hope" in different way-we hope for a cure so that others will never have to go through cancer...it's one lousy journey that I hope (we hope) that one day no one will have to take.
Welcome to the boards.

Just want to welcome you! Love your name! I would wear the shirt! Why not?0 -
I'm new here also. These
I'm new here also. These girls have already helped me so much. I had a masectomy with tram flap reconstruction on June 11. I begin my chemo on July 23. Getting my port on 22. Hope all goes well with u. I will be glad when first treatment is over. I figured at least I would kinda know what to expect after the first one. I would wear the shirt. My sister-in-laws bought all of us a shirt that says I fight breast cancer like a girl. We usually go to all the walks for cancer. Now I am a survivor too. let me know how u r doing after and good luck.0 -
Welcome, Kick
It sounds like you have the right attitude, girl. Humor is a much-needed commodity on this journey. I know that it would be ideal to have a 0% recurrence rate, but 3% ain't too bad. Mine was 30% before treatments and I was even OK with that. You will get through this.
PS. Love the shirt. I definitely think you should wear it.

shirts
Love the shirt! My sister bought me a t-shirt for Christmas last year that says "Cancer, you picked the wrong broad". I wore it to work the day before my surgery. Everybody loved it.
I am also turning 50 this year - I was diagnosed on my birthday last year - great present, hey?! But a positive attitude certainly helps. Keep laughing!0 -
Am I lucky or what?
Kick-ca-**** is my sister, and I am so glad she found and shared this site with me. Try as I may, I can't offer the kind of support and reassurance for my sister that a women who actually has experienced breast cancer first-hand can offer. Besides, I love to read all the compliments directed to her -- obviously, she really is special. I am so thankful for such a community, and I am sure the "relatives of survivors" are going to be a great help to me too! Love, love, love you KCA!0 -
