What to do it no diagnosis yet, but elevated AMAS?

I didn't really know where else to post this. I have been having many of the symptoms associated with pancreatic or liver cancer but no diagnosis yet. Had cat scans, endoscopic ultrasounds, etc, no smoking guns but some blood tests came back suspect. Plus the weight loss, no appetite and ever present right side, mid-back pain.

However, the AMAS tests came back as elevated so I am sort of waiting for the other shoe to fall.

I guess I am trying to find out what people would suggest doing if you suspect you have some kind of cancer, but don't know what kind it is yet? Has anyone ever been in that situation? I.e., strongly suspecting they have cancer but not knowing the type?

    What I would do
    is see a specialist for whatever blood work came back suspect. And/or talk to your doctor about your results and concerns. I had the opposite situation, I felt great and had no symptoms at all and then found out I had stage IV colon cancer.
    I'm sorry I can't offer any other advice, maybe someone else on the colon site can be of help?

    Hi. If there is a good teaching hospital with a cancer specialized team you might want to get an appointment there. Somewhere that is highly specialized in cancer treatment and diagnosis would be better. I have seen on many posts about such hospitals, MD Anderson, and many others, depending on where you live. I'm in Ohio and go to the James Cancer Center at Ohio University Hospital. I was having a lot of pain and trouble going to the bathroom, and I just knew it was cancer, though no one believed me until my intestines were ready to rupture. I hope that you do not have cancer, and can find out what is causing you such pain, but to ensure the best diagnosis and treatment, try and go to a specialized hospital.
