Hi Kathy
For me side effects of Taxotere wasn't nearly as bad as A/C. My hair grew back while I was on Taxotere. I was going with out hats before my rads ended. I took it every three weeks. That was the standard when I was doing treatment. Almost 6 yrs ago.
Hope you do good with it.

Exactly what Jadie just said. Except I had FEC then Taxotare.
Hair started growing back and I felt more lively. My only problem was the bone pain... knees mainly, 4 or 5 days after my chemo I got awful pains in my knees, these lasted for 3 days on the first treatment, 2 days on 2nd and 1 day on last (3rd)...Also I lost my voice for 3 days after each treatment too (much to my hubby's delight! LOL) Hope this helps. Hugs to ya Jxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
I am having my treatments
I am having my treatments every three weeks and have already started to lose my hair at a rapid pace toward the end of the second week. I was advised by my nurse to get my hair cut while I was at my first visit, I had fairly long hair. I am glad that I did get it cut. I plan to get it shaved. I am tired of this "shedding process". As for responses to treatments, mostly I have had digestive problems, nothing seems to stay in me for very long, no vomitting, just frequent bathrrom visits. I did experience headaches, earaches and throat discomfort also shortly after the treatment day. My white blood counts dipped and they put me on an antibiotic and now there is mention of using Nulastin...
Good luck with your treatments.0 -
Taxotere
I took 4 treatments of Taxotere. Took them every 3 weeks. I did lose my hair at second treatment but has started to grow back at last treatment. I did not have any nausea with the treatments but did have bouts with upset stomach. Did have headaches and joint pain. My biggest thing was the fatigue. I would stay really fatigued the first week after my treatments, but all in all, I did really well with the treatments & I thank God for that. He held my hand all the way!!!
Hope you do well with your treatments and God Bless You!!0 -
Taxotere
Kathy, I had Taxotere along with AC every three weeks, six times total. I have heard that people who have AC first, often have Taxotere alone on a weekly basis. It is not as toxic as AC, I don't believe, so a weekly regiman might be OK for you. I can't really tell my Taxotere symptoms apart from the AC, but general joint aches seem to be the consensus with this drug. Three months after treatment, I am now experiencing hip and knee pain intermittently. But that could also be the radiation.
Good luck with you decision and let us know.
