    Dear ajbf,

The easiest way to locate other CSN members with similar experiences is to type keywords (such as "liver cancer," "CEA," "CA 19-9," etc.) on the search bar at the top of the home page. You can refine your search by clicking on the “Advance search” link listed underneath the search field. The major categories of content on CSN are blogs, discussion boards, “About Me” pages, etc. For example, if you are looking for a specific resource on the Resource Library, you can limit your search to resources only by clicking on the "resource" and "advanced search" button at the bottom of the "advanced search" box. Remember that you must be logged on if you want to post anything on a discussion boards, view personal pages, use the chat room, etc.

    Cordially,
    Your CSN Staff

Hi, hope you are still around.

The CEA is a tumor marker for Liver. The CA-19 9 is a tumor marker that can be used for liver and the pancreas.

The CEA marker being down to 0.5 is good news. As far as the CA-19 9, I would keep an eye on that with your oncologist. Normal range is 0-37, so 98 is a number to be flagged, but it may not mean anything - this test can be a pos/neg test and I've heard conflicting news if the test is even reliable, but I get that test and pay attention to it.

My CA-19 9 numbers have been "off the charts" for years now. Last count I had was 380 and it has been as high as 700+ but neither the CT or PET scans can show any mass the last couple of years, so I never know what to think.

But my CEA's were 19.2 and went down to 0.7 and then last count was 1.5 still normal for the liver.

I would stay with any tests that you had scheduled and keep in close with your oncologist on what the next step should be.
