Did anyone see the new drug on TV last night for breast and ovary?

Last night on national news they presented a new drug; it is a pill and is doing a fabulous job in killing cancer cells in breast and ovarian cancer. Women who were down in bed with metastasis are back to work! The pill was orange but I didn't get the name of it. Very few side effects. If it works with ovarian I bet it works for UPSC. It will be released in two years. We need to find out about this; get to the researchers and get some women with with UPSC recurrance on study so it can be available to us. USPC uterine and ovarian are very similar cancers. Sorry I couldn't get the name of the drug or where they are doing this research. Perhaps someone else saw it. It was very promising and they showed a video how the drug worked. Kills only the cancer cells so you don't feel sick.

I'm going on #5 today so brain won't be so hot for a few days. Thanks for your support.

    If nothing else, this is wonderful for BRCA 1 & BRCA 2 women!
    I visit the Ovarian and the Breast cancer Discussion Boards here, and it is heart-breaking for the women who have daughters and sisters, and test positively for BRCA1 or BRCA2. It's horrible enough to have cancer, but to think that you have 'passed down' the likelihood of getting cancer to your little girl is too awful to even contemplate. Of course, I desparately hope that this discovery is a path for a cure for UPSC. But regardless, it is a breakthrough of hope for a large group of women with confirmed BRCA1 and BRAC2 genes in their families. It's really wonderful! Thanks so much for posting this.

    We need to get some USPC women in the clinical studies or they won't release it to us in two years. I am on chemo brain (yesterday) so excuse wording and typing. We need to write letters encouraging them to to have us on trial with them. UPSC ovarian is very similary to uterine. We need this drug available to us in two years too.

    Where and who do we write the letters to? It totally agree with you. UPSC is treated the same as OVCA so we definately need to be included in this.
