Thanks guys! I may just start replying to everyone more often! Kim, I am doing well, there is a spot of fluid they are watching that showed up on my CT that they don't know what it is at this point...could be from radiation, could be the tumor trying to start back up, but I won't worry about it until I have to!, but other than that my last treatment was in May, and I dont have to go back until August! yay! Gail...a vacation will be fun!! My husband and I are going to the river with the pups and doing some swimming/kayaking...should be a good time! I am also getting a new tattoo next week....a sea turtle (symbolizing long life in Japan, and I'm somewhat obsessed with them) carrying away the esophageal cancer ribbon, which is periwinkle blue and also looks like water...I'm pretty stoked for that!tootsie1 said:Hi

Summer
Hi Cathy glad you stopped by. We had a lot of plans for the summer but with my husband getting cashed out on his vacation and the new company coming in we will lose our vacation time. Darn...we were planning on going to visit my brother's who I haven't seen in 5 years. They were there for my by phone while I was fighting my cancer, but due to it being in the winter, the passes were too horrible for them to actually come and see me. It was kind of tough especially emotionally to not have them here, but we got through it.
I know though that we have so much around here to keep us busy through the summer so it won't be a total downer, we will have fun with our granddaughter no matter what we do!
In fact next month I am actually going to get away by myself, (grandpa will be a weekend papa) and go catch up with a friend from H.S. that I haven't seen in 29 years. I am so excited for that time.

It's awesome that you stopped to say HI! Cancer is cancer no matter where it is, and we're all in this fight together
Hopefully you'll stop by more often so you can tell us more about yourself
Hugssss!

Donna, I will definitely have to stop by more often, this is a great bunch!! A little about me- I am a teacher, and just got married a year ago. This past October (I was 23, and married for 4 months) I was having trouble swallowing, so I went to the doctor and they sent me in for an endoscopy and dilation, said I most likely just needed my esophagus stretched, my grandpa use to always have to have it done...well turns out it was a tumor. 10 days later I was having surgery to remove my esophagus and a third of my stomach, and I was stage 3. I went through 6 months of chemo (Epirubicin, Oxilplatin), and Xeloda), with 5 weeks of radiation. I go to the Mayo Clinic for all my treatments, but I live in northwest Iowa. At the end of my my scan looked clear, besides a tiny sliver of fluid they're watching, which may be from radiation, they're not sure. I now don't go back until the end of August! I look forward to getting to know you too!
