Visitor Five Year Survivor Stage 4 ~
Have been NED every since no more chemo and no surgeries.... They found a 2cm tumor base of rectum with four liver mets.. For those of you just diagnosed with this I wanted to give you hope and I will continue to check in from time to time to let everyone know I'm still here. (I had my liver resection in January 2005)
I have to tell you though I don't think the monkey on your back ever leaves though. It becomes a real eye-opener to other types of cancers and I guess you could call me paranoid now on and off... Pretty much every ache I have in my mind is somehow related to this even if its a pulled muscle. Praying for you all. Doreen

Thanks
Thank you for posting this. I am so happy for you. My husband was DX last Nov. with stage4. We are going through the Chemo now. Love hearing the postive out comes from everyone even the people still in treatment and fighting this beast. We have found so many people here to be so helpful with everything from diet to medication and support. Thanks again and thanks to all of you semi-colons. Good Luck Paula G.0 -

Congratulations Doreen
Congratulations Doreen whatever you are doing just keep on doing it. Don't worry about cancer just stay vigilant and have your tests when scheduled. It is really important to look after your health in all ways there are lots of things to be aware of. I now have a regular overhaul every year to check all aspects of my health. I am facing potentially life threatening kidney and autu-immune diseases that sort of crept up from behind and ambushed me. Take good care of yourself,I wish you a long and healthy life,Ron.0 -

Congrats on 5 years and thanks for the positive news. I'm new to the website but one year
into all this - had surgery, still doing chemo, spots on liver and a couple in that fatty tissue. Things shrunk initially but are now just status quo. This whole stage IV bit has been a bit daunting and can feel a bit like a death sentence. When you hear of a 5-year survivor it helps keep the positive outlook going. Thanks for checking in.0
