Arimodex and severe neuropathy

Hi everyone! I have a good friend who has been on Arimodex for one year. She is experiencing severe neuropathy in both her hands and feet. The Drl finally stopped the drug. To complicate matters further she is totally blind and uses both hands and feet for mobility and reading Braille. She can not do either one now due to the neuropathy. I have two questions on her behalf:

1) Has anyone experienced neuropathy in the hands/feet due to taking of Arimodex?

2)If so what are you doing to alleviate the symptoms? She has constant pain due to the neuropathy and takes Oycycodone a couple times a day to relieve the pain.

Needless to say her quality of life is severely reduced due to the neuropathy. She thanks all of you in advance for any assistance/tips you can provide her.

MJ from Tx

PS I am doing well for those of you who may remember me. I am going for a new guide dog in July as Wish has 'decided' she does not want to continue guiding me! So I am off in a week to get a new black lab! Mammogram in right breast is normal!! Yay, no other news from me. Take care all!

    neuropathy.
    Hi,
With out going into too much detail, there are much better drugs for neuropathy, I would suggest asking a doctor who is familiar with it, most likely the onco, if not the onco, maybe a consult between him/her and a diabetic DR.
    Hope that helps,
    Mike

Hi Mj! From what I know,
Hi Mj! From what I know, yes, Arimodex can cause neuropathy in your hands and feet. It has a lot of side effects and some people get them and some don't. Please call your oncologist and see what he or she can prescribe for this. Good luck!

I do have problems sleeping and terrible legs pains. Everytime I go to the oncologist with some symtom they tell me it the Arimidex. Right now I am on Tylenol 4. Still does not help.

    Arimidex does have side
Arimidex does have side effects and one is the leg pain. I have seen several on here post about it. Sometimes, your doctor lets you go off of it for a few months, to see if that helps. You might ask your doctor about that.

    Arimidex
sorry MJ, I have been on Arimidex for 18 months now, and I do have the bone pain and hot flashes (which are also because the chemo slammed me into menopause), but never had problems with the neuropathy. Hope your friend gets some relief soon, and congrats on your guide dog! I am new here, but I know there will be a lot of others who will remember you.
    take care
