Relay For Life!

Reading about your Relay's this weekend brought back a lot of good memories for me. This May, was my first Relay for Life! I didn't know if I could really go or not, as, I knew it would be emotional, or, so I had been told. But, because my friends had made this team in my honor "Jeanne's Dream Team", I kind of HAD to go. lol I was so honored, so flattered, so overcome with what my friends and family did. We also had to have ours inside the school, as it was raining. But, it didn't damper anyone's spirit. My team walked for hours and hours. I couldn't ever get a picture of all of them together because they would NOT stop. lol When the survivor's lap came, they forced me to get out there and walk it. I started to and then started crying. I had to stop for a second. At that time, that moment, my husband grabbed my hand, my friends and family all rallied around me and we walked the survivor's lap..together! I would not have been able to do it otherwise. That night has given me memories that will never leave my mind or my heart. I even put one of the picture's of my dream team back up for my avator. I wanted to see it there again, since so many of you had talked about the relay. If you ever decide that you want to go, remember that you don't have to walk the survivor's lap if you don't want to. But, if you do want to walk it, you don't have to walk alone. I didn't and have tears rolling down my cheeks now, just thinking about it. The luminaries at night will touch not only your heart, but, your soul. It is an amazing experience. I hope all of you can enjoy it one day!
Love, Jeanne
