Hi All...

I had a good visit with the oncologist who said "I have nothing bad at all to tell you!!" CEA low as ever, CT Scan of liver clear, Chest x-ray good. Everything looking good! This is 2 years post liver recurrence/RFA/Chemo. Yeah!!

So tomorrow it is off to the hospital for an "incisional hernia" repair. I've had a rather large abdominal hernia since my last liver incision. The surgeons have said "Let's wait until we know things are stable." So this is more good news!

I'm just relaxing after an afternoon of "bowel cleansing"!! Yecch!

Anyone out there with post-op hernias?

LLAP... Rob

    Hernias
Congrats on being NED, that's always great news!

I was told after my colon resection that I had a slight hernia from surgery, but it's really nothing to worry about. I'm hoping it stays like that.

    Good luck on your surgery.

    Umbilical Hernia
Yep, I'm a post-surgery hernia victim! Actually, I had my colon-resection done laproscopically (8 hours!) and shortly thereafter, I was blessed with an umbilical hernia which I had repaired on an outpatient basis. It sucked! I'd rather have 3 resections than 1 umbilical hernia repair! I just couldn't move and inquired as to why it was so painful and my surgeon (same one that did my resection) stated that "this time, you don't have a morphine pump"! Anyways, it healed quickly and my belly-button once again looks normal.

    Good News Rob!
Glad you are able to "move on" (pun intended!) I have a hernia also and was just given the green light to talk to the surgeon about it. Not sure if I need surgery...but it is irritating.

Glad your reports were so good. Many Hugs, Vicki

    Congrats Rob
    Hey Rob,

Great news is always good to hear. I am about 2 years out from last chemo and I am also doing well although I too have an incisional hernia. I plan on having it fixed in the fall. I want to try and enjoy the summer without another surgery.

    Cheers,Lance
