chemo or not
I noticed that you have not received any comments concerning your husband and the choice of chemo or not. This is probably not an accident. I think, it is just because no one has a definitive answer and I will add, very quickly , that I don't either. But this I do know, you must be going through a very difficult time.
I wish you well.
Talk to your doctor, maybe ask him .." If this were your Dad or 'your' 88 year old wife, what would you do"
Everyone on this site is here for a reason, looking for hope, looking for an answer ,looking for understanding.
I am glad you wrote ,keep looking, keep thinking, keep talking to your husband, keep praying.
You will, along with your husband, make the decision that is right for you.

Your husbands doctor should
Your husbands doctor should be able to give you pro's and con's of chemo. I'm not sure if I was 88 that I would want to endure chemo but as you know every person is different in their choices and how they handle chemo.
Best wishes to you and your husband during this time.

Chemo
I am 58 and my cancer has spread to my bones and I personally will not ever take chemo. At best it may give me 6 months. My wife died of breast cancer 10 years ago and had all the possible treatments along with chemo. Her last few months were a living hell. Thank God for the morphine. Chemo at 88 seems like a punishment rather than a solution.0 -
