When "it" is back
Carol,
You said you began having symptoms. What are they? I never knew I had Ovarian Cancer before. Just had the pain in the left side like appendisitis.
I thought for a few days I had an UTI (pain, needing to urinate frequently, etc). I called my family doctor Wednesday told them my symptoms, they said sounded like that but to come in and give an urine specimen. They did call me in a prescription. I took one pill that night, took one yesterday morning, they called me back and negative - nothing.
And it is better. I have had blood work this week too my onc/gyn called to tell
my iodized calcium is elevated. She wants me to repeat that one test at another lab to see if I get the same result. She asked if there was heart disease in the family (no). But my white count is finally up to 3.9 after last chemo in August 2008 and Hexalen January 2009 and the rest of blood work good she said. CA 125 was taken last month and is 13.2 and will take again next month. It is up 5 points since time before.
Anyways, this is now wordy! Sorry for going on.............what are your symptoms and when do you call your cancer doctor instead of family?
Thanks,

Libby,
Thanks for your concern. I see I should have worded things better - I actually do not have a family doctor, my gyn/onc surgeon is the only doctor I see.(Yes, I know I should get a family doctor.) Anyway, my symptoms are; abdominal bloating, swollen right leg, and slight bladder issues (incomplete emptying, need to go frequently, but no pain). That and the fact that for me, the CA125 numbers tend to be very accurate. I had no symptoms at all for my first recurrence (CA125 numbers caught it), but these symptoms above are similar to what I had before my initial diagnosis.
I will get my results Monday afternoon, will update everyone.
God's love to all, Carol0 -

I'll keep my fingers crossed for good results for you tomorrow. The wait is hard,I am also waiting on results (Tuesday) after having biopsies of lymph nodes in my neck last Friday.
Trying to be optimisitic though until I hear otherwise... I have been in remission ovca since
I finished chemo last November.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you,and wish you
all the best, luv Carolyn xxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Carol - I am so sorry to hear you are going through this again. I'm sure it's been a LONG weekend. Why do they make us wait?
In regards to your symptoms of the bladder issues - I just had my 4 month check up and had discussed my bladder issues with my gyn/onc and she said it was probably stress related because my CA 125 is 7.6 and everything else seems fine. As Libby said - how are we supposed to know?
I hope you get good news and will wait to hear what your reports say tomorrow. Thinking of you!!
