I got in from work tonight and my other half was outside with a huge smile on his face, he looked as proud of himself as our cat did when she 'Caught' a mummified mouse and carried it about the house for 3 days! LOL

Anyway, I figured he was just drunk (as usual) BUT: (Yes he was) He had claimed one of my plants!

He challenged me a competition.....: "THIS.. is MY tomato plant, I have Potted it on and used the Farfar fertilizer and watered it in and staked it, I am going to really look after it, I bet you that I get tomatoes before you do!"

I have 22 Heirloom English Moneymakers on the go in the greenhouse, he thinks this is a joke..."english tomatoes, in Canada.....They Won't Grow"

He's such an expert (Ex as in 'Has-been' and spurt as in 'Drip under pressure')

Anyway I graciously and humbly accepted his challenge.

Lets wait and see who wins this one eh?.... By the way, Has anyone here ever managed to get tomatoes off a CATNIP plant?

LOLOL.......I couldn't tell him, I was just helpless!

Final thought......When I met him, he looked like Oliver Reed...Now he just ACTS like him.

Hugs Jxxxxxxxx

Well, that was the best story I've heard in awhile, Tasha!!

You have GOT to keep us apprised of the competition.

Will he figure out THE TRUTH?????

    Will SHE tell him????

Will tomatoes grow on a catnip plant?????????

Stay tuned for the next installment of, "As the Tomatoe Ripens."

when are you picking up your baby boy? I really am positive you will have a great time with him, take all the time off work they will allow, it will be worth it, and let us know how the tomato saga goes.
You can tell your other half the name of is plant is faux reds: they are thick skinned and a little dry inside...hehe
or, for Christmas Girl, you can name them red and green ornamental hardy christmas tomatoes.
Please keep us up to date on the plot line.

    Catamips??????
Follow along in THIS episode, as we watch the Expert Horticulturist trying to discover the source of his amazing glassy fruits. What COULD they be? They are definitely not tomatoes...

Meanwhile, the feline community has gathered near to throw themselves at his feet, assaulting his prize plant and tossing the baublefruits everywhere... What is causing their strange and destructive behavior? And what is that odd, minty smell?

Stay tuned for the next episode of, "As the Tomatoe Ripens..."
