Metz to the eyes?
I had a very bad CT/PET scan, lesions in right kidney, thyroid, mastoid, sinus, occiptal cortex, "Activity" in my spine and right hip, and a series of mini-strokes. My Oncologist said everything looked good. WHAT THE HECK?
My PCP, called me and wanted me to come in. After she looked at my results, she spent most of her evening on the phone with a number of specialists. Very concerned, she set up a number of referrals, ASAP. I saw the first one, an eye specialist, Wednesday. She considered this appointment an emergency. After examining me, and with another doctor at her side, she informed me of her (their) concerns, could be something as easy to repair as cateracts, but her real fear - the BC had spread into my eyes.
Gee, how much more do we have to gro through? Has this happened to any one here? I have tried googling this and nothing. However the Dr said she has had 2 or 3 cases in her practice. She wants me to return for dialation of my eyes, and to see her partner - the surgeon. If she sees nothing, we'll need more testing. I cannot have an MRI as I have a pacemaker, so I imagine it will be another PET/CT.
Thanks for any advice - I am scared to death. I have had 9 surgeries in the last 2 years. I just cannot go through anymore. - Jean

Jean,
I am so sorry for what you are going through. Unfortunately I have just begun this journey of my own with bc. I have no information that will be helpful. I am sure many of your sister warriors will be here soon, and hopefully with some information that you can use helpful. In the mean time, welcome to this wonderful group. Please know that I will genually keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

It sounds like you have an outstanding PCP (principle care provider?) and she is on the ball. She seems to be very efficient and thorough-a great team member to have fighting for you. I've never heard of bc going to the eyes, but if there's a clinic that specializes in the eye diseases I would ask your dr to make a contact with them.
Here in MI, we have a nationally recognized clinic that is connected to the Univ of Mich Hospitals. They have specialists for nearly every eye disease imaginable, and if they don't know the answer, they find someone that does. You may also want to consider contacting John Hopkins Hospital (Calf), they also specialize in eye diseases.
I'll add you to my prayer list.
