...Hubby is now frying up some fish he caught over the weekend (sawguy, sorry if the spelling is wrong and bass) with a nice beer batter...he doesn't drink, but guess who just poured herself a nice glass of beer...yep, I did! and it sure does taste good when you haven't had a swig of it in awhile LOL.
Yes beer and a good fish fry sure do go together. Hope you enjoy that beer - you deserve it. Would love to be a guest over at your place for that fish fry. Yummy.

My doctor told me no
My doctor told me no drinking after my liver resection BUT, I lost 55 lbs and he said that he was going to prescribe me some pills where the main ingredient was some form of marijuana if I didn't start eating again. I'm in Maryland, so medical marijuana isn't legal...0 -

...I'd love to have you over for the fish fry...yummmmy!
I don't know if medicinal marijuana is legal here in Ohio, but the regular weed works just as good, as it does help cure that nausea and will definitely make you want to "snack" alot, and why do I feel like a spokesperson for Phil when I mention the stuff, it does help! LOL

I definitely agree with the smoking of pot. Actually, Michigan just passed overwhelmingly to allow the use of pot for medical purposes. You are right about the big companies wanting to generate their big dollars and with pot they wouldn't be getting a dime.
I say if it helps you - then go ahead and use it. Geez I should check into that now
Thanks for the compliment on the picture. It was only because of you I actually got it changed since I'm so computer incompetent sometimes LOL.

Yer like totally gonna put me, like, out of a job, man...
Like if pot becomes, ya know, like legal I'll be working at Taco Bell - but of course more people will be GOING to Taco Bell when they get the munchies... so maybe I'll do OK.
Maybe I should, like say, ya know... THANKS, man...
Emily - the hat you're wearing in your picture is really cool - is it made with kinte cloth?0 -

There's always cocaine!!
AND I can't believe you didn't comment on the alcohol question. Your Captain Morgan replies always made me laugh a few years ago.
I miss your humor and I really miss you and Stacy, Barb, Em and some of the others going back and forth like you used to.
Good to see you here and I hope you are staying safe. I'll see you in Oct. at CP7.
Much love,

I'm tired of wakin' up on the floor~ remember that one?
True so true. Actually, cocaine trafficing is what really keeps me gainfuly employed and gives me opportunities to travel the world chasing the bad guys.
Yeah, I tried to think of some snappy Captain Morgan line, but I'm just too tired! I miss the old gang, too, but I am way busier than I was back then so finding time to come onto the board is a rare treat. Often I have to weigh it; Do I get a nap or do I go onto the board?!
All is well. Underway for a while yet then home for not long enough. Katie will meet me when we get back to Key West and (hopefully) our furniture will follow right behind in a day or so.

I am working on making the site better, updating photos, etc. The picture on the front page was taken about a week ago by my helicopter. It's been absolutely beautiful out here. We were recently in port for a few days. While there, we did a community relations project. We went and refurbished a room at a local church that provides a place for cancer patients to sleep when they come in from out in the country for their chemo treatments. The name of the facility is Casita de Mausi (www.casitademausi.org) - needless to say, it was a project that was near and dear to my heart! Either Katie or I will post a photo or two from the project as soon as I get my hands on some. I have also started a newsletter that we post at our site, you can view some additional photos and see some of the stuff we're up to.
Be well, darlin'! See you soon!!0 -

Great website! I enjoyed the newsletter as well. I was raised in a military family, although stationery. Dad was in the Army Air Corp in WWI (cryptographer) and then a lifer in the National Guard. Because he didn't go to college, he never made true officer status, (he was 'Sarge' to everyone...it's on his tombstone as well) but retired as a Warrant Officer...his CO upgraded him just before retirement.
Good on you for the cancer project! I'd love to see pictures.
Be safe...and THANK YOU for your service. Vicki0 -

I don't think that one is USDA Govt approved that the other is "moonshine". Pot is a weed. There are different strains of it with different potencies. I've had some that was OK (Miller Lite) and others that were very good (Johnny Walker Blue). You may want to check out NORML.org for more info. I just went there for the first time yesterday (but I didn't inhale). There are a lot of interesting facts and studies posted there. It's not just stuff written by potheads.
Gee....how did I become Mr Pothead???
It's better than Mr Potato Head I suppose and Emily is the Carrot Chick.
BTW: I am off to my local CSA to get some organic veggies. I plan on making a nice organic veggie juice and throwing in some weed and vodka! Ha-ha, just plain old juice, it's really quite good if you mix it right. Otherwise it can taste like licking the bottom of your lawn mower (only with it NOT running)
:-)
PS: Does anyone recognize my new avatar. He was a famous character actor who was in many famous movies and also a TV show. $5 cyberbucks* to whoever guesses it.

Hmmm.....PhillieG said:Alcohol
I would think that since the liver in many of us is compromised, staying away from alcohol is probably the smartest thing to do. The nurses say 1 or 2 here and there are OK (just don't tell the Onc I said so) so I follow that advice.

That isn't Errol Flynn in your avatar, or Howard Hughes is it Phil??? I may have the wrong dude.
Yes, I think the thing I'm going to do is stay away from it, my liver gets flareups sometimes, and my doctor said that the soreness could be the avastin working on it, strangling the vessels, so it's a good thing if I feel my liver is a little tender in that area. I can wait till chemo is over. The beer was a nice treat on Friday though, a nice small glass, and it went down sooooo gooooood.

Bryl Cream, A little dab 'l' do ya!
My guess is that it's actually a headshot of a young, dashing, but angst-filled dramatist/arteest named Phil back in his days performing on Broadway with the likes of Robert Goulet and Liza Minelli. Perhaps when he was one of the leading men appearing in Camelot on the great white way?0
