I just started temodar and I wanted to know if anyone had ideas about hair color? I am getting married in 2 months, I really want to do my hair. The temodar I am taking is a low dose 1 week a month.
Thanks, Tina

    Hello Justina:

You should speak to your doctor about hair coloring, since this may increase hair lost. I will start my last month of chemotherapy in June and my doctor told me no hair coloring until I finish my chemo and my surgical scar heals. I have not dyed my hair since Sept. 08. I am also glad to have a great supporting family, friends, that has accept my salt and pepper look. I have been very lucky that I did not lose too much hair although; I received 33 radiation treatments and nine months of chemo (first at a low dose and than the last 6 at a higher dose.) Perhaps, all this was due to following my doctor’s instructions or good genes.

Also, speak to the hospital staff nurses,in your area that may have a hair salon that is for cancer patient only.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and God Bless.

    Congrats on your wedding!
    I

    Congrats on your wedding!

I have not had radiation, but I take 270mg of Temodar one week a month. My last surgery was February 2009, and I have dyed my hair twice since April. My doctor never told me that I should not dye my hair, and at my appointment last week the neuro-oncology nurse practitioner remarked that my hair looked really cool. If dying my hair was a bad thing they would have told me by now.

Definitely talk to your doctor, but I say go for it! It's your wedding and you should look fabulous.

Here is a website I found that maybe of interest to you. I agree with Liz this is your special wedding day. As a professional wedding specialist, I would not let any of my bride's go down the aisle with hair roots showing. However, under the medical circumstances, I would always advise my bride to seek professional medical alternative, which to me is more important.

    God Bless

    I will strongly suggest you
I will strongly suggest you not go for hair coloring. Instead I will suggest you to wear some sort of a graceful Wig on your marriage day.
