Update on Surgery

Thinking of Her
Sounds like she is doing better and I'm glad. She has been through quite an ordeal the last week. Bet she feels so much better with most of those tubes out of her, but we do know that they are there to help her. Let her know she is in my prayers and I hope she continues to get better each and every day so she can come on here and starting posting. Thank you for continuing to update us.

WooHoo!!msccolon said:Doing Better
Mom is doing sooo much better! She is feeling better, and her vitals have remained fairly stable. She's had all kinds of tubes and things removed, including her NG tube. She's not feeling any nausea, and her pain is still being managed pretty well. They moved her into a private room this evening. Hopefully she has a great night and continues on a great recovery! She thanks everyone for their support; I'll be bringing the laptop by tomorrow to read her everyone's comments
So GLAD she's doing better! Here's to continued improvement and a speedy recovery. Get her home and she'll be on FIRE! Go girl, go!

So happy to hear she is doing better; she has lots of
moxie and is a tough fighter and it has pulled her
through; hope she continues to have good days and
less pain and will be home soon.

Thanksmsccolon said:Third Update
Mom did not have a good day or night. She was dealing with constant nausea and dry heaving until yesterday evening. They finally got this under control, but then her heart rate went up. After several tests, they determined she was bleeding into her abdomen. They took her into surgery around midnight to correct this and give her more blood. She was sent back into ICU after surgery on a ventilator. She has been extubated this morning and all her vitals are stable. The nurses said she is doing better, and is drowsy, but aware between sleeping. They expect her to be in ICU for a couple days. Please pray that she'll continue to get better and have no more set backs.
Thank you so very much for keeping us update on your mom. She is in our thoughts and prayers, as well as the entire family. My husband had lung resection 2/09 and now liver resection 4/29/09 so I understand. Give her my best wishes and pray that each day brings less pain and closer to recovery and going home.
Hugs,

Hopefully Last Update From Hospital
Sorry for the absence in updates (this is still her daughter). She's been slowly but surely getting better. She has everything but her IV and an abdomen drain removed. They took her staples out today, I'm guessing too early. The lower half of her incision re-opened down through skin and subcutaneous layer. They gave her a wet to dry bandage that she'll be maintaining/changing at home. She is having diarrhea issues, which will hopefully be clearing up. The doctors say she is doing good, and hopefully she'll be going home tomorrow!!0 -
