treatment centers
I have been to
University of California Irvine Chao NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center
University of Southern California Los Angeles NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center and
University of California San Diego Moores NCI Cancer Center
THese are all on the list of National Cancer Institute( US GOVERNMENT CANCER FOLKS) approved centers and are treatment, research and teaching hospitals.
I read somewhere that your risk of dying in an NCI Hospital is one half that of non NCI hospitals rates.
Go to the list of NCI centers, they are in every state.0 -
cancer center
I received treatment at Peoria Cancer Center, it used to be Illinois Cancer Care. They are very good. We have a Cancer Support Group that meets 2 days a week. It has helped me alot. There are Counselors at this Center also who are top notch and who have literally saved my life when I was suicidal. Thanks to this team I've been cancer free for 2 years.0 -

I used to live near Peoria...in Deer Creek and East Peoria, then when we got married, we had our farm out at Maquon. Hubby is from the Macomb area. We are in Colorado now.
I go to the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Longmont...a Godsend for me. They do a lot of research...in fact they are one of only 12 community oncology centers research programs recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology with their 2006 Clinical Trial Participation Award for efforts to improve the quality of cancer care through participation in clinical trials.

Sounds like you've gotten
Sounds like you've gotten plenty of good advice already but for what it's worth, I'm lucky enough to live near Roswell Cancer Center in Buffalo New York. It's rated near the top.0 -

I am treated at Sloan-Kettering in NYC. Here is a web site listing NCI comprehensive cancer treatment centers: http://cancercenters.cancer.gov/cancer_centers/cancer-centers-names.html. Due to the extent of your metastasis, I believe that it is critical for you to at least obtain a second opinion from at a comprehensive cancer treatment center. If I was in your position, I would want to be treated at a comprehensive cancer treatment center rather than only obtain a second opinion.0 -
Lombardi
I'm being treated at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. I've had all of my scans there, my liver resection, my Low Anterior resection and all of my chemo treatments. Neo Adjuvant and now adjuvant treatments. I have about 3 more cycles of chemo then I start chemoradiation. The doctors are excellent and the nurses there are amazing!0 -
Huntsman Cancer Centerlesvanb said:Utah Cancer Center
I go to the Huntsman Cancer Center which is associated with the univeristy of Utah and a part of the NCCN network. I've been very pleased with the quality and care during my two surgeries.
Hi, I have wanted to get in touch with you about the Huntsman Center. We are in Utah and are going to Utah Cancer Specialists. We have talked about getting a second opinion if we need to and will most likely go to Huntsman.Did you need a doctor to refer you? Who do you see up there? If you see this please let me know. Thanks Paula G.0
