First, thanks for your service over in the sand box. I am an active duty member (still). iwas Dx'd with Stage 2/3 colon cancer in 2001. The military took great care of me (at Bethesda NNMC) and I am still rolling.
It's VERY doable - and thyroid cancer is VERY treatable!
Drop a note if you have specific questions. Ooo-RAH!

Thanks SpongeBob for the reply. I just found out I am PCS'ing to Quantico in Oct so I am happy about that because I heard there are some wonderful doctors up there. Thanks for the inspiration. OOH-RAHspongebob said:Ahoy, JP -

Since you're a Marine, you'll probably get your treatment at Bethesda. If they don't steer you that way, fight to get there. Bethesda is in a joint practice with the National Cancer Institute - which is right across the street. It may take you an hour to get there (2+ hours if you're trying to drive through the Mixing Bowl at rush hour), but WELL worth the drive. Feel free to drop me a note if you have any questions.
Go get em!

Thank you for your service!
My daughter was treated at Bethesda. I can't say enough good things about the treatment she received on 5-west.
God bless you!0
