C-def bacteria

Hi everyone, to make a long story short, I am 5 years NED (thank God) rectal cancer, stage 3. I had my rectum removed than chemo and radiation. I do not have a colostomy. However, over these years I have suffered tremendously with blockages. I had a resection 2 years ago and then again this past March 31. I have the most horrendouse, painful and very slow recuperations. This time I am suffering with 20 to 30 or more bowel movements per day with much pain where my rectum is supposed to be. I have been having diarrhea since my operation. I was tested for the c-def infection but it came back negative. However, that sometimes happens; the test doesn't pick it up all the time. So they put me on Questran (ugh) and increased my lomotil to 2 pills, 3 x day. Also I am on Flagly. I have been doing this for over 10 days and it doesn't seem to be working all that well. So they gave me another fecal test to see if in fact the c-def comes back positive. I am just at my wits end with these bowel movements and pain. I am housebound and everything I eat goes in my mouth and out the other end. Anyone out there ever have this c-def? Also, I have been through this operation before but this time it is so much worse. Oh, they also gave me valium suppositories for the pain in the rectum which doesn't help my hiney but wow what a high! hahahaha I am just so miserable. Sorry to complain but I know you all understand. Thankyou.

Awwww.....
I sure don't have what you're experiencing, but just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about it, this sounds so miserable, and just wanted to let you know I hope you get better, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers, hope it all gets sorted!

C-def bacteria
I'm sorry that I can not be of any help other than to say that I hope they find out what is going on so they know how to treat you. I've had days where I've gone about 20 times and it's not fun, especially at night. You have to sleep with one eye open. But it was only for about a day. I wish I could do or say something to help you.

OMG, I just re-read what you said at your bottom (no pun intended - yes there was)of your post, but a Valium high hiney.
Glad you can find some humor in it.
Laughter is the best medicine (next to a valium suppository)0
