heading to hospital in the morning

I'll be heading out to Baptist Hospital in the morning to start the prep for the Cytoreductive surgery and IPHC. As you can imagine, I am getting nervous, remembering my past surgeries and having a bit of some flashbacks. I really need to go to bed, and some Ativan will help. Your prayers are appreciated. My daughters will be keeping you apprised of my recovery until I am able to get back on the computer. I go in bright and early Monday morning. Avg ICU stay is 3 days, with total expected stay 9 days. CanadaSue's husband has been through a similar procedure, so I know she is aware of the extent of this procedure. I am confident God will be with me as i move forward in this journey, but I am still scared!

    Speedy Recovery!
    Hi Mary! I hope you recover quickly from your surgery, and not have to stay the full nine days! I completely understand your apprehension. Surgery is traumatic for even the bravest, and each new surgery brings us closer to the last, and the end of our ordeal. That's how i'm trying to look at it, anyway.

    you have every right to be spooked
    Dearest Mary: considering what you have been through and what you are going to go through you have every right to be scared. sounds like a biggie Mare......but you've done biggies before and you will do this surgery too. I am so happy your daughters will be there.

    Mary, I want to say how much respect I have for you in this battle. Your posts are always bang on and you have helped me many times....ie. my terror of starting the oxy.

    My thoughts are with you and I know there will be dozens of others from this board pulling for you.

    I'm just seeing this posting so I'm not sure if you are leaving for the hospital this morning (Sun) or tomorrow (Mon). Either way... I hope all goes well for you and that you have the speediest of recoveries! I'm not sure what a Cytoreductive surgery and IPHC is... the big words always throw me ;) But surgery is surgery, and no one looks forward to it... but think of the celebrating you will be able to do when you get home :):)
