Hi....names Buzzard....nice to meet ya....hello...anyone home ???....come on in and sit a spell, as much as we are sorry for the reason your here we are happy you came.....?
I am trying to get him going. I just joined a couple of weeks ago and was telling him about it. I have found a lot of hope ( which I needed badly) So much great information as well. I don't know why you were gone and hope it wasn't illness but love the picture and your sign name Buzzard. My husband JR is doing well on Chemo 5th tratment. We know it is working because his liver has gone down in size and it isn't sore anymore. I added you to my friends list I hope that's okay with you. See you around for a very long time. Paula G.0 -

We love meeting new people here.. HI there JR as well! This is where I came when I was in a dark place, and was immediately helped, and have been feeling better since! Yes, the reason he was gone is just better to forget, and not brought up anymore, we are all connected in this disease, and all we want to do is see what everyone is going through, and giving people more hope and all.
Now, to get Diane back here....0 -
Thanks everyone
Thanks everyone I don't know everyone yet but I'm trying. This crap is so scary and it has helped reading peoples stories. I don't know what I am doing yet on the board. Is there anyway I can look up people's DX to compare treatments and stuff??? Let me no Paula G0 -

Come on in a chat. You will not find a more positive group of people. I have been on other cancer support sites and this in my view is the best.

Me too, Stage IV colon cancer
I, too, was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer after having surgery on January 23, 2009, for a tumor 30 cm x 36 cm. The doctor told my family after surgery that it was pseudomyoma peritoneil and was benign. It was heart breaking to learn six days later that it was mucinous adenocarcinoma of the colon or stage IV colon cancer. A rare but deadly kind of cancer that is hard to fight because the mucous can come back. The mucous carries the cancer cells all over my insides.
After surgery I had seven tumors that were unseen by the surgeon because of the mucous. They weren't big, but I was still scared. The doctor started me on 8 treatments of Oxaliplatin, 5fu, Avastan and Leucovorin. After the fifth treatment, I had lost 61 pounds, could barely walk, and had no memory of my day to day activities. The doctor decided after the eighth treatment to stop the Oxaliplatin because my CEA was 2.7 after being 13.8 before surgery and because he knew I was one of the few people on the planet who was being this adversely affected by Oxaliplatin.
I don't want to scare you, I just wanted you to know that there are more people out there with Stage IV and my doctor said out of 70 he had on the above treatment, only two couldn't take it. Me and a 70 year old man with Parkinsons. I'm only 54 and was in good health before the tumor started growing. It took 6 weeks from the start of the tumor until I had it removed, so you can see mine was a fast growing tumor.
Good luck, JR, and ask any questions you want to. I'll be glad to answer them as best as I can. I was scared to death from the time I left the hospital until 4 weeks later when I started chemo.
