I miss so much when I am away, bilirubin, questions.
Anyway, I did get test results back today...inconclusive. They don't know why my bilirubin is high, at least the ultrasound did not give them any clues. All the nurse told me on the phone was that my oncologist is unconcerned and he'll see me in August! Well, I'm concerned? Do you think I should try talking to him directly, or get a second opinion?
Just skimming the discussions, I saw some questions about lymphedema and funny feelings in the arms, chest and armpit. I notice pain occassionally along my mastectomy scar on the side I had cancer. That same pain is sometimes in my armpit when I raise my arm. I wonder if this is the result of nerves regenerating? Sometimes I wonder if the pain is scar tissue that needs to be addressed.
I have very mild lymphedema, but owies on my hands and arms from gardening haven't caused any repercussions (yet). I am careful, but trimming roses, darn it. They have thorns, dontcha know.
My thoughts for the day. Night to all of you, my friends. Lynn

Glad to hear it's not concerning, Lynn!
But yes, I would suggest that your elevated bilirubin levels are strange enough to merit a second opinion.
The censorship comes from R-I-M-M-I-N-G, which you could look up on Google if you liked. But I suspect you will be just as happy if you don't.0 -
thanks (I think), JoeAortus said:Glad to hear it's not concerning, Lynn!

That was more than I wanted to know, but now I feel really cool and with it.

... to find the subject of auto censor's confusing issue with trimming once again, within this thread. Because, it was just earlier this very evening, after dinner, when I finally posed the question to my husband.
"Honey, what does R-I-M-M-I-N-G mean?" His response: "In what regard, exactly?" I then said: "Well, in a naughty way..." and, explained the CSN auto censor.
His explanation was of few words, yet certainly enough. I admit, I was actually instinctively afraid to "google" it. Thank goodness.

Inconclusive?
Well, I guess it could be worse. But, "inconclusive" is not comforting. Yes, maybe try to talk directly with your onc. Like, what next? Test again in August; i.e., just "watch" it? I truly wish your results had been more reassuring for you, Lynn.
My surgeon told me that whatever feeling I had or didn't have about one year after surgery (lumpectomy & underarm incision) would probably remain forever. Almost 6 years later for me, and I still have alternating numbness or the "tingles" in the underarm & inner arm to my elbow. Some nerves mend, some remain damaged. Throw in surgical and radiation (if applicable) scar tissue and muscle damage, geez...
From a fellow gardener - please, invest in specially made garden gloves for maintaining your roses. They're much longer, and made of thick leather. You need to protect yourself. Worth the $. By the way, I didn't understand the auto censor's problem with trimming, either. Until Aortus tipped me off.

Who would guess "****?" Unfortunately, with my chemo brain I probably will have forgotten this post by tomorrow. Lynn0
