Hi Kindred Spirits,
I'm not posting a lot yet, but I'm reading yours. Thanks for all the good wishes, good thoughts, and good prayers, from whatever belief system you come from.
I'm pretty gross looking, underneath the compression bra. Lumpy, bumpy, and bruised, and swollen. So, I try to stay somewhat detached when I change the dressings. I've rigged up a little belt for my drains to hang from, so I don't have to pin them on my shirt (yesterday, I pinned them to my sweatpants before I left the hospital, and luckily I was thinking clearly enough not to yank down my pants when I went to the bathroom right before I got wheeled out...needless to say, I pinned them back onto my shirt!) Anyway, the belt works great, and it's fabric so the pins work fine on it, and I use another one to shower with so it can dry in between.
The pain is quite manageable with the hydrocodone, but the antibiotics are giving me a disgusting taste in my mouth -- ick.
So, that's the fun news for today! I love that I can share all these lovely things with you and know that you will be laughing and/or nodding in understanding as you read.
I love you all and so appreciate your notes and caring.
Love and very gentle hugs,
Debi0 -

And you are home. Did the Komen race Boise today and thought of you and many others and actually started crying in public. OH well, I was a pink shirt so it was allowed.
Ain't that hydrocodone grand? I actually saved some aside for some day when I just want to have fun with it? Am I a sick cookie, or what? Love, LYnn0 -
How did your ultrasound go, Lynn? Moopy and I (and, I'm sure, everyone else here) have been on pins and needles!lynn1950 said:Ah, so good to hear from you.

Great that you did the Komen race - as a BC survivor, heartfelt THANKS! for your efforts! We were with you, as kindred spirits - did you feel us alongside you today?
I'll echo concern from Aortus & Moopy - when will you have results?
Lastly - sick cookie? Nah... Everybody LOVES cookies! Something as sweet as a cookie couldn't possibly be sick!!!
Kind regards, Susan
P.S.: Is tomorrow - Mother's Day, May 10th - your birthday? Or, did you mean (within another thread) NEXT Sunday? Hey, I'm simply confused, as usual...0 -

It's been a good one. Drove my sister to the airport, got home, went to church (I'm not a Christian, but God is God wherever you go)and after loving up my family I'm sending love to this family. I won't have the ultrasound results for a couple of days. Thanks for your wishes and prayers. Lynn0 -
