Has anyone ever had swollen feet?

Please call your oncology nurse or physician.
I didn't realize the swelling was that bad when I responded earlier to you. Yes, Lisa, you need to call this in. I assume that your oncology nurse from chemo is still available to you for a phone consultation, but if she isn't, I think you should go to the ER. It may be nothing, and I hope that it is, but that's a lot of fluid. Please don't ignore it. I'd rather feel foolish for over-reacting, than ignore something that needs looked at. (((Lisa)))0 -
GIVE A CALL
Good suggestion, Lisa, to just call to check it out. I developed a great deal of swelling in my left leg. Still have it somewhat even after chemo. My doctor attributes it to abdominal surgery, making blood vessels week, etc. I'm very diligent on exercise and diet, and do notice it go down quite a bit when I'm diligent. My doctor had also recommended compression hose, which I did wear for a while. It is very hard to get on your leg, but extremely helpful. Also try to lie down for about 15 minutes during the day, your legs elevated. It will bring it down, too. Believe it or not, drinking sufficient amounts of water will actually get rid of water.
As to the weight gain, well I am still fighting it to this day. Two abdominal surgeries, two chemos, all the steroids, many, many CT scans with triple radioactive contrast (destroyed my thyroid), menopause, have all contributed to this. I just keep working at it as best as I can.
My best to you. Sending lots of Hugs and Prayers. Let us know what you find out.

Foot concern
Lisa - your feet aren't "weeping" are they? If they are you need to go to the doctor ASAP. I don't know all of the details of why - but I've had experience with two friends with cancer where the feet were so swollen they couldn't even put shoes on and they would "weep" - or get wet.
Always better to be safe then sorry - something is going on.
Keeping you in my thoughts. Please let us know how you turn out. Hugs!

I did go to my reg. physician about 2 1/2 weeks ago and went because I had a sore throat and I told her about my foot and ankle also about the weight gain.. she told me she could give me diet pills to help and then she took blood test and all of those she said came back normal. she looked at my foot and said I was retaining water. I will call my oncology nurse tomorrow. I am hoping it's just the weight gain and I'm not used to feeling this fat. the right foot was not too bad tonight and I was working about 15 hrs today. So, maybe that might have a little to do with some of the swelling. I'll call and let you know tomorrow. Thank you so much Linda for your help! I really don't know what I would have done without you guys when I was going through all of this. (((HUG)))0 -

Thank you Monika I will start drinking more water. I have noticed I am drinking only coffee because I feel tired a lot so coffee helps with that. Do you know how long it will take and how much water I should drink for it to help?? I bought one of those wii fit to help me have fun when I exercise and it is fun.. but I don't do it everyday like I should. I am eating healthy foods fruits, vegs, etc.. and chocolate .. I don't know what's wrong with me but I crave chocolate at times it's unreal! I will let you know tomorrow what the doctor says about the foot. thank you so much Monika!! (((Hugs)))0 -

No, my feet do not weep.. I'm not sure what weeping feet are but if it is that they are wet in anyway then no.. my feet are very dry and I can get my shoes on. however the right shoe is very tight and my sandals strap is tight. thank you for letting me know because if they do start to get wet or weep I will go to the ER asap. thanks again Kris! Called My Chemo Nurse..BonnieR said:Swollen Feet
Dearest Lisa, I am glad to read you are calling your nurse. It is not that uncommon to get lymphodema and it kind of sounds like that. Let us know what the oncology team says. Hugs Bonnie
thank you Bonnie for your post.. I was a little scared thinking I might get lymphodema that I called first thing this morning.. My chemo nurse told me that as long as it doesn't hurt or feels warm to the touch that I should be ok. She will talk to my doctor and tell her my signs and if the doctor thinks its something I need to be seen about then they will call me. I told them I'm leaving for Arizona tomorrow and they said they would call me if they thought it was a problem. So, I think I am ok .. I also asked her about the aching all over still... she said that is part of the side effects even now and that everyone handles recovering differently. I still have to take my pain meds every day. Thank you so much Bonnie. (((HUGS)))0
