Hi Peggy....
I think you have pretty much answered your own question regarding the first doctor...treated shabbily and no follow-up. I personally could not trust my life in the hands of a doctor whom I had little or no trust in, as far as looking out for my well-being. Some doctors I think, simply get so jaded after years of practicing medicine. As far as I'm concerned, they don't have to be charming or even have warm personalities. But they DO have to know what they are doing, treat me with the respect that we all deserve AND answer my questions.
Is there a chance that your husband could continue with the second doctor in Boston?
I'm very sorry that you and your husband have had to go through this latest scare. And I can certainly see where all of this would add more stress to your lives. And none of us needs any additional stress!
Vent anytime!

How do these people get a job (career, occupation) that involves dealing with the public? Just terrible! Hugs Jxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Physician, Heal Thyself!!!!!
What we need is, a Dr. with the diagnostic genious of Dr House, the loving-care of Marcus Welby, and the looks of either Ben Casey or Dr Kildare! I mean really...is that too much to ask?????? (For those of you who don't know who these men are; well, ask your parents or grandparents!) LOL LOL
I hope you enjoyed the pizza~ you both deserved to!
Hugs,

LOL Claudia, I remember those doctors! I was a little girl for Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey, but yousa, yousa, were they good looking. There are compassionate doctors out there just a rare breed and hard to find. Hugs, Lili0 -
Peggy, I would certainly do
Peggy, I would certainly do some shopping around for a new urologist. Any doctor with that disregard especially knowing you just had diagnosis does not deserve your visit. Find another doctor. Hugs, Lili0 -
Hello, Peggy!
Gee, am so sorry about all of the additional stress - while at the same time relieved about your husband, for both of your sakes.
It is so very important for all of us to have doctors we feel comfortable with and can trust. When family & friends complain about theirs - my simple advice is to find a different one! There are SO MANY OF 'EM - no patient should put up with a disappointing doctor! Glad you found one you can have confidence in.
Pizza? YUM! Labs - even better! :-)
From one fellow dog lover to another, and with...
Kind regards, Susan0 -
Hi Peggy,
It sounds like you
Hi Peggy,
It sounds like you got a dr. that has a god complex. The "I am the dr. and thou shalt not question me!" type. Unfortunately, bedside manner is not a class that all drs. must pass. I am glad that you and your husband got the great news. I hope your tests and his always come back clear from now on.
I'm about to fire my onc. which I would never have considered doing a year ago, oh well. Some drs. hide their "god complex" better than others.
Love and Gentle Hugs,

I am so sorry Peggy
I know that sometimes it just seems like enough is enough! My husband and I have planned several vacations this year. We normally go on vacation every year, but, this time, we are going on several. I think we deserve it. Maybe you and your hubby and can do that too? Just get away and forget about the big C...that is what I am planning. I hope it works!0 -
Good call on the vacations!Noel said:I am so sorry Peggy

If everything works out right, the Moopster and I will be taking several monthly trips to MD Anderson in Houston for a clinical trial. Our first consultation and screening is in early July, and we are definitely making a vacation out of it. Obviously we're not going to be forgetting about the big C while we're at MD Anderson... but we definitely plan on thumbing our noses at it and mooning it some.0
