here I am............
For what ever that is worth!!! Here I am. Doing good. Thank you for asking Deanna, and I saw Linda post earlier. Your concern means a lot to us. G is better, but lot's still happening. It has been farming time here so we are busy. I have been listing and selling a lot of bank owned homes. That in itself is a full time job too. I miss all of you and hope to get to know the new sisters that have found us. I saw on a different post a discussion about prayer shawls. I have a prayer shawl. One of my agents mothers knit it for me when I was first diagnosed. It is beautiful. They said they put a prayer in each stitch. My daughter also had a prayer circle going around the world for me. Very powerful healing happened. I wish that for each and every one of you also. God bless.0 -

Just hadn't heard from you in a while. Glad to hear you are doing good. Glad to hear that your hubby is better, I think of you and pray for you. I bet you are very busy with farming this time of year. We are trying to keep up a small veggie garden here, but it has been so wet and rainy. Today, I found radishes growing in a circular area in the garden that is a puddle when it rains. It should be interesting to see what comes up where. I've heard that foreclosures are a lucrative business for some right now.
It's good to hear from you. If you get a chance, post a picture of your prayer shawl, I think that it such a neat idea. Prayer is powerful!

Glad to hear Garth is doing okay too. I have been wondering about you and your family. I am glad you are keeping busy. Have you been able to do any farming? It has been so wet here in Illinois that the farmers have not been able to do anything. I too believe that prayers are very powerful. Take care.0 -
We miss you, Peggy! But, being 'TOO BUSY FOR CANCER' is good!!
It's funny how the mind works. If someone doesn't post for awhile, I worry that they are having a bad time and not posting so as not to bring down the morale of the group. Then they post, and it turns out that cancer is not dominating their life just now, and that they are happily busy LIVING! And that is always wonderful! I am so glad that a vibrant business and planting the earth are what keeps our Peggy from us! There's nothing as satisfying as digging in the earth. I thought about this yesterday as I worked in my own gardens. If heaven is whatever we love best, then my heaven will be a replica of earth, for I love this world 'as is' more than any other Kingdom I can imagine. Even with the cancer and the posion ivy that is just starting to sprout on my hands and chin, I love this earth with a passion that brings tears to my eyes!
And everyone, please, please, should you ever have bad news or face a difficult bump in the road, please don't be protective of the rest of us and keep your troubles to yourself if it will help you to share them. As a group we have had a LOT of good and happy news to share thus far, but we all know that some of us could face disappointing scans, scary complications, and even recurrance (God forbid!). I just want you all to know that I would rather know and be there for you, than have you shield me, thinking it would scare me with worries for my own prognosis. I know the reality of cancer. In my heart I see us all cancer-free and NED in the future,...but in case my optimism doesn't play out,..... Do the rest of you feel the same? Do you want the bad news as well as the good news?0 -

Prayers are amazing.... I recieved two prayer shawls. One from my friends church here in Charlotte and one from cousin in NJ. It's wonderful to know that people really do care and the power of prayer is the greatest gift ever!
Glad to hear from you and that you are just busy.
MIND, BODY AND SOUL!!!!!

I agree with you Linda. And thanks for reminding us that we are here for each other - through THICK AND THIN!!! Sharing can help release some of our anxiety and fear.

checking in again
Absolutely agree that we should not have to screen out negative thoughts. We are all on this rollercoaster together. I wanted to share with this group a poem(journal entry) that a very wise 13 year old in my life who has Cystic Fibrosis sent me recently. He really is my hero. Barb
What's in My Journal
A pick
A mandolin
Strumming a tune passed down
A sketch
A gugunga
Turning into a story about nothing in particular
A lake
A family
We jump in and soon are engrossed in a game of ultimate Frisbee
A bowl
A first helping of gnocchi
Devoured in minutes
A bad gene
A second bad gene
Some people just get unlucky
A crack of the bat
A stadium holds their breath
The ball flies over the wall in the midst of a struggle to get it
A Rollercoaster
A metaphorical rollercoaster
I am taking this ride and I am not stopping until my ride is done

What insight for a 13 year old.
I too agree that we are all her for each other with the good and if the bad should occur. This is a wonderful group of ladies, that I wish nothing but the best. HUGS to all.0 -
