Hello all my dear friends, well I must tell you I thought of all of you while I laid on that gurney waiting to be sliced and diced. I had a wonderful surgical team that were understanding of my lymphdema problem and very accommodating. To say I posed special challenges for them is an understatement. They had to figure our where to put the blood pressure cuff and ended up using my upper leg for that and the iv for the meds was more than fun! Due to all the chemo I have had my veins are less than cooperative. I felt so bad for the young nurse attempting to get the IV in, she stuck me 4 times when the sleepy doctor (cant spell his title hahaha)said if that doesn't work i will put it in her neck AHHHHHHH, I was much relieved when she said it worked (5th time was a charm.) I woke up pretty darned sore with two drains in which we have to drain and measure 4 times a day. I slept all day yesterday and plan to sleep most of today. I am currently hiding out in my bedroom since my grandson's want to be with me because they know I don't feel good. Every now and then they knock on my door and say "gma u k?" they are 2 and 4, then their mommy shoos them away from the door :-). I am fine and so glad I took this step. My doctor says I must sit extremely still for the first 5 days so the stitches that are keeping the implant in place will not come undone. After that I am supposed to be moderately still for an additional 8 days. Geesh am I going to feel like a slug by then!

Well, I just wanted to let you all know that it went well and that I truly appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts that came my way, you guys are the best!

Much Love,

    So glad you're home, Rena!...
... and surrounded by loved ones! Am very happy that all went well for you yesterday. (Except for the minor complications during prep - sorry about those.)

You know you must now follow doctor's orders, and I know you will! You could never, ever by a slug! :-)

Hoping for a quick recovery for you!

    Kind regards, Susan

P.S.: I can hardly believe you posted today; but, am so glad you did! Also, love the PINK monkey!

    WHOOOPPPEE RE ...
Aren't you glad that is over with? And ... the fact that they moved your surgery up ... gave you even less time to stew around. I'm so glad you came through with flying colors. Keep us informed about your progess ... and I'll be thinking of you.

And ... enjoy being a slug. At least the doctor didn't tell you to go out and run 10 miles a day. See ... now doesn't being a slug sound good? :-)

    love,
    Teena

    Happy you are home
This is all about you now, so rest, lay low (like a slug). Those drainage tubes can be a "bugger" but, will do their job to keep fluid from building up. Watch all those movies, read all those books/magazines...and nap or sit in the fresh air! I've been thinking of you.

I am so glad that almost
I am so glad that almost everything went great! It's time to learn to put your hand up to your forehead, give a heavy sigh, and say "peel me a grape!" I hope you heal quickly and have very very little pain.

Everyone is getting so creative with their cute pics. I love it.

    Love and gentle, gentle, hugs,
