mardi gras after mastectomy
I have to share a conversation that happened between my mother and I when we here changing my bandages after my mastectomy. I look down at my breast and then at the scar where my left breast should be and I started giggling. My mother is kind of looking at me like, "maybe she's going to loose it' look and I continue laughing hysterically. Well by this time Mom is laughing but she doesn't know why. I finally regain control and asked her,When I flash them for necklaces this year, I wander what I'll get. She didn't miss a beat and came out with bracelets! Then we both almost peed out pants.

I LOVE IT !!!
I don't know if you are in Louisiana ... or not ... but I lived there for 15 years (and miss it VERY much!) ... and I can guarantee you that if you go to Mardi Gras next year ... and lift up your shirt ... you will be drowning in necklaces. Those folks are so drunk out of their minds ... they don't care if you've got 12 boobs ... or zero boobs. And ... actually that't the way the rest of the world should look at boobs. Not drunk ... but also not see them as crucial part of a woman's identity. The beauty is in the brain ... not the boobs!
hugs.
