I hope that people who are dealing with colon cancer are not scared away from this site because of the rehashing of a old topic. This site is here to help to answer questions from people who are suffering from cancer, especially the newbies. The last thing they need to hear is fighting from it's members over non-cancer related things.

If this site is not for some people's tastes or beliefs, then maybe try to Google what type of site you need and you will see that there are plenty of sites out there. There are sites that deal with cancer from an angle that may fit some people's lifestyle better than this one does. I hope that those who can help others stay and I hope the others find what they are looking for and most importantly, that we all get well.

I second that Phil! I hope we all get well or cured or are at least able to be happy and live what life we have to the fullest!

    Well Said
Well Said Phil, if all of this had been going on when I first started posting on here, I don't know what I would have done - I desperatly needed someone to talk to that had been where I was going.

Thank you for setting us straight.

    Thank You
    Phil,

I appreciate your thoughtful and right-on response. I come here for support and skip over the rest. I can see both sides, but want no part of the discussion. I want to talk about my CANCER journey.

    Many hugs, Vicki

    Anti-Cancer
I think the only thing that we all are is being ANTI-CANCER. Thank you all for your kind words, we all just want to get better or help each other get better.

Although I did reply to the other post as I said I have no clue what transpired before. I do know each of our journeys might be different, but we want the same goal.

Hey Phil where is that picture from? That is just beautiful!

    Thank you Annabelle,
That is a lake right by my house. I kayak on it as much as I can. I caught it early in the morning with the fog. It's a great place, I just love it. I LOVE NY

I've been meaning to mention this photo of yours too, Phil! I love it! It looks kind of eerie, but with the sun burning through the clouds, you know it's going to clear up. Meanwhile, since it is early in the morning, I can tell it is sooooo quiet out on the lake! Beautiful shot!

I'll be sending you a PM later. I bought myself a new toy yesterday... the new Pentax X70. But off to my volunteer work I go!!

    Hi Mags
I think it means that I hit the target or the mark. Gambling??? What are WE doing in our spare time ;-)

A mark is also someone who people could use as the victim or target of a crime like pickpocketing.

But thanks. I'm not trying to become another you-know-who. I just call them as I see them. Sometimes the forest can't be seen through the trees. (there's another one to look up) While trying to find out what "on the mark" meant, I saw references to "what are skid marks?" I know so I didn't look at the answer but I have to admit, the internet is amazing with what can be found on it. Much of it totally useless but entertaining none the less.

    Nice Camera Cheryl
I just looked up that model camera. VERY nice! I wish I could get something like that. Maybe some day I will, I'll have to stop buying guitars though and I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

The lake is like a sheet of glass at times and then I've seen white caps other times. Here's a video I took a little over 2 years ago. I was playing the guitar but not at the same time. Just to shoot this little video made the kayak go way off course. I can get real windy there which is nice too because we are 2 short blocks from the lake so we often get a breeze on our deck. It's great.

I really enjoy photography. I use a $130 Fuji J10 digital camera. I forget how many pixels it is, I think 8? It does a nice job though. That morning was nice and foggy, I love how we get that at times.

    Hi All,
Phil, you're right on track. I think the best way we can beat this negative vibe from coming into our wonderful supportive group is to not reply to the posts that move to stir things up again. Let's reply to those posts that help each other and not reply to the ones that stir things up. That way those negative posts will die.
FYI: I am a Christian who has wonderful family members who are Jewish. We also lived in a Muslim country for 3 years and have dear Muslim friends as well. Our friends are of all faiths including no religious beliefs and all races and orientations. We are the richer for it.

Hehehehe... I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this camera! I love the feel of it... now I just have to figure out how to use it to it's full potential :)

But I did take a few pictures today, and JenBen, if you are close by, I took these ones for you ;) You mentioned how you love the arts too, so I figured I'd get a decent picture or two of the theatre office I volunteer at. Hey, not too shabby!! I mean how bad can it be to come to work to this office... even the gardener takes very good care of us :) Our office is at the top of the couple of rounded cement stairs from the grass to the walkway.

    image

Here's another angle of the office:

    image

And yet a third angle of the office... you can see our office windows on the bottom with the windows that have the yellow curtains in them ;) And aren't the tulips lovely? One knows spring is here when the tulips are up!

    image

Oh, and just for the fun of it... a Snow Bush!! Well, that's what it looks like! LOL!!

    image

I'm pretty impressed with how this camera handles. Of course, I haven't even started to learn all the tricks and how to use it for it's best pictures :)

    Right on the mark
Certainly there's a reference to marksmanship, but also actors on stage and film have marks on the floor they have to hit, or get to. Maybe Cheryl can confirm that, as she's active in theater.

    Kathleen,
Well put and it's great that you have a blend of beliefs in your life. I think more people should, it might promote some unity and less grandstanding. Let's move on...

Hear! Hear! Kathleen! A voice of reason! I bet that comes from living in paradise :) You get a multi-culture experience on the islands so it's very hard to take any one belief as the "only" one... and that's been my point all along.

I could kick myself (ok, IF I could reach myself butt with my foot ) that I've had to give up my annual jaunts to Hawaii :/ The last time I was there (Jan 2008) I found that it was just too uncomfortable (pain-wise) to get around. Walking was just starting to be a real problem at that time and now there's the back which only allows me to walk for about 5 mins. before it kicks in. But I wish I was still coming every year so that I could meet up with you and ****! And now I could take even more beautiful pictures of he island since that is such a hobby of mine :)

You go away for a few days.......
    Hi all,

I cannot believe that this subject has once again made it on this site.
I think some would have learned from the first go around.

When I come to this site which has not been much of late - will do a post on it later.
I cannot believe we are back to this topic once again.

Can we drop it once and for all! And get back to what this site is all about - helping and supporting each other in this journey.

    Have a great day all!

    Agreed
I thought it was over too. However, someone felt they had to make an announcement that they are leaving and dredged it all up again. I am trying to get people to focus on the issues, not have a debate over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. Only the die-hards are keeping it going, the ones who truly care about helping others are trying to do just that.
Welcome back, hope you are well
