WHEW!!! Hans is about 80% recovered. He has been sleeping often, and taking things very, very slow, but he says he definately feels improvement in the brain function...I am smiling for the first time since this nightmare began!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...I feel so blessed to know you all!!!
We still need to keep it slow, and there may be a need to replace the device in his chest with a new one (we knew that this one was losing battery power, it's been there for almost 5 years). But, compared to the other stuff, this will be a fast procedure.
I love you all, Kathi

Excellent, Kathi!!
That is wonderful news!!! Has he tried insisting on driving again... and does he remember doing that the other day??

Been there
Kathi,
Bill had his defibrillator replaced last year due to the battery going. I was scared, but the operation was so much easier than the original implant. Since the leads are already in the heart, it's sort of a "plug and play" deal. He was a bit sore afterwards, but I brought him the same afternoon, and it was relatively easy.
*hugs*
Gail
P.S. Also wanted to say that I'm glad his brain functions are improving!0
