Yes they for some reason messed up and left it in there, 3 years ago. I was DX with rectal cancer so I don't understand why they left it. I have had a perm. ileostomy since 2006. So now they want it out, but I am going to a different Dr. to do it, so it can be done right.
Many Hugs and Prayers
Jackie

    Hi Jackie
I'm still confused...do you mean they left part of your rectum and gave you a permanent ileostomy?

    They left 2cm
I have no idea what they are doing, and I don't think they will know until they get in there. But the can feel a stump and it should have all been removed. I just look at it as they get paid to mess up because they will have to fix it at sometime.

    One of the Best!
Jackie, i've been told by many that my colorectal surgeon is one of the best in the country. I know she gives lectures about the genetic component to this disease. Plus she's a researcher, so she's very curious. Perhaps she will consult with you? It would be worth a try. Here is her website: http://drramamoorthy.ucsd.edu/default.aspx

It's inexcusable that your doctors aren't explaining things to you. It sounds like they may have flubbed up and are covering their behinds before they get sued.

All my best wishes, and let us know how your appointment goes.

    Many hugs,
    Krista
