Chronic Nausea
I started chemotherapy in December 08. I have experienced nausea since the onset of treatment. I have lost about 30 pounds to date (April 9, 2009). It has been 6 weeks since the end of chemo (had to stop due to weight loss and nausea)--and I stil have nausea and loss appetite.
I have had multiple tests----docs found nothing significant.
Has anyone else experienced chronic nausea (especially after treatment)?
I have stage one breast cancer ductal invasive carcinoma---triple negative.

Doc, please ask your doctor
Doc, please ask your doctor about a medication called Emend, which is given by pill form about one hour before your chemo treatment, and for the two days following chemo. This helped tremendously. Also, please DO NOT take Reglan, which is prescribed for nausea during chemo. This drug has really nasty side effects, and has been linked to a neurological disease called tardive dyskinesia. Some oncologists prescribe this drug, but please do research on this before you take anything. The FDA has put out a "black label" warning on this drug, and you really want to avoid it.
One thing that does work for a lot of people is Ativan. Maybe some others will have some advice. Just wanted to pass along the warning on Reglan. Hope you find relief here on the boards, and if not, keep calling your doctor. There has to be something. Hugs.

Sorry, just reread your post and saw that you had completed chemo. (This chemo brain is a little off today.) The Emend is only used during chemo treatment, so that is not an option. However, do get in touch with your doctor, and stay on them until they find something that helps. Hugs.

nausea
I have had some nausea after my chemo. I found that Zofran (prescription I was taking during chemo) helped alot. The nausea continued until 4 weeks after chemo. I feel better now but am still watching what I eat, fried foods seem to still cause nausea. Also, small meals and ginger tea also help. My doctor said that it is normal for some of the side effects to hang on for up to a few months.
Good Luck0
