Well tomorrow is finally the day that I move into the next phase and shed my expanders for the nice soft implants. I'm excited yet also a mixed bag of feelings. While I'm thrilled to move ahead it is also a reminder of this whole cancer thing still being so real. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a track where last June when I had my surgery I was on the inside track with the cancer in the middle. As I went through radiation I kindof moved to the next lane and now I'm in the third lane but still running circles around this whole cancer thing. I guess sometimes you just need to remember where you've been to see how far you've come. I could use some prayers and good thoughts tomorrow. I keep telling my family that I'm finally getting jelly filled eggs in my Easter baskets! Thanks sisters

Hi Dawn ... I'm so glad you will have jelly beans in those Easter baskets. :-) I hope all goes well ... you have a speedy recovery ... and start wearing those spring/summer T-shirts. Enjoy the "new" you.

    hugs.

    Speedy Recovery
Good Luck tommorrow. I just had my gel implant put in a week ago. I am almost 100% and I must say I am impressed. If I did not have a scar I would not know it was'nt the real thing!!!! I had a saline implant put in 7 years ago and there is no comparison. I am so happy with the results. I was so upset when it ruptured because as you put it...it slaps cancer in your face. I am 7 years cancer free yipee, but when my implant ruptured the reality of my experience rushed right back to me. My doctor removed lots of scar tissue and that was probably the only thing I had to recover from. I am back to work and can't wait to put on a bathing suit. HMMMM... I live in CT so it will be a while. But Good luck tomorrow. It will probably be a while before the nipple is done, but you will be amazed at how much better you will feel after this step is done. Let us know!! Chris

    jelly eggs
    Hi Dawn

Get off the race track and get on the straight of way and don't look back. You are now doing something for yourself. You have to move on now and find your new normal. It will take time but you will gradually settle into this new normal.

Enjoy your new jelly filled eggs.LOL love that! If it were Tash she would probably fill them with beer.

    Hugs

    Crack me up!
In keeping with the egg theme, I have to say that you guys crack me up! And right now, laughter is THE best medicine ;-) I love the eggs in the Easter basket metaphor...this Easter just won't be the same, because I'll be giggling inside about jelly-filled eggs with every Easter basket I see. Thanks! And let me know how they feel, because I'll be getting some of my own next month.

    worth the wait!!
Thanks so much for all the good thoughts. Can't believe how good I feel and how good they feel!! All the waiting has been worth it. Nothing like the first surgery. I can raise my arms, easily get up and down, don't even need the button down shirts that I lived in after the first surgery. I have some discomfort but as my Dr said it was like pushing Pooh into Rabbit's house (and I have a small tree trunk). Seriously I am amazed that I could ever feel anything so soft again. It was a wonderful cry this time. Not till this point have I felt like I'm really going to be able to heal inside and out. Again, thanks for all the "egg..stra support!"
