Headache
Hi, Teena, my head started itching and burning and hurting--right before my hair started falling out. I just had my husband buzz cut my head, which helped. (I had gone to the hair stylist and gotten a very short cut just before that.) That took care of the major itching and hurting, but my scalp still itches sometimes.
Also, Zofran, the anti-nausea med, can cause headaches. You can also go to chemocare.com and read about the side effects of the drugs you are taking.
Hope this helps. What you are experiencing sounds very normal.0 -

Thanks Moopy. I guess I just keep looking for something new to "happen." I've also noticed an almost rash thing going on in my upper back/shoulder area. Itches like crazy. I've been putting super-dooper anti-itch cream on it and that helps ... but then again ... I can't tell if it is "spreading." I think I'm getting paranoid. I've even looked up shingles on line to see if it could be something like that.

Teena, you might have someone look very closely at the rash, and see if it looks like little blisters. If so, it may be shingles. I had them while undergoing chemo, and went to the doctor to have it diagnosed. The onc told me that if I had gotten to the doctor within 72 hours of the breakout, they could give you an injection to lessen the shingles pain, and help clear them up sooner. You are probably not having shingles, but sometimes when our immune system is down, this is what occurs. I hope you get better soon. Hugs.

I don't think you are being paranoid, just observant and questioning. Which we all need to be.
Judy has excellent advice, as always. I remember early on, Judy, when I started posting, and I read your warning about shingles. That helped me be pro-active and ask my doctor ahead of time about the sore throat I was having. And I realized I should be alert on this treatment journey, and not be passive. So, Teena, I definitely say listen to our sister--who is not a creampuff, but is as sweet as one.0 -

Hi Teena Some chemos can cause a rash (or reaction). Once my hands broke out in a solid rash and itched like crazy. Another time my arms broke out. Both were short lived. With chemo I think anything can happen.
Take care
