Once Upon A Time...
In reading through the array of rambling regarding who is offended, who is proud, who is leaving and who is staying, I have this to offer...
Once upon a time, we had a great forum here. It was an opportunity to offer advice, a shoulder to cry on, a joke or two (or three, or four in most cases), and just plain comraderie due to the fact that we can all agree on one thing: WE ARE ALL IMPACTED BY THIS THING CALLED CANCER. All of you who have become the "new" regulars on this board represent those of us who have "graduated" from this board because of having met NED and simply don't want to crowd the boards with our stories that have been told over and over again. There is one simple rule to this forum.....RESPECT. You do not have to agree, but you must respect what every single person has to offer. It may relate to you, it may not. As Katie and Bob said, "You can change the channel" and choose to not read what you may not want to believe, support, or represent. It is not wrong to not believe in a higher being~~whatever that higher being may be. Additionally, it is not fair to discount anyone's belief in their personal "higher being", and the support and feeling that their God has provided for them.
Years ago, we have had some lengthy posts about nutritional impacts on cancer, chemo vs. no chemo, locations of Colon Paloozas (which by the way is in KEY WEST this October~~THANKS scouty!), tastes great vs. less filling, which remedies are the best for side effects, and many more topics that escape me at the moment. In the end, we can all agree to disagree. We would have our "tiffs" and then GET OVER IT! Anybody that wants to take their "Barbies" or "GI Joes" and go home, you can. Anybody that wants to remain part of one of the greatest message boards for CANCER support, I strongly urge you to do so. Bottom line is, no bashing. No need to read anything that you don't feel comfortable reading. No need to waste precious time getting petty....ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT.
I feel confident that I can say all of this on behalf of my good friends here. All of us have put SO much into this board for the sake of others and it's a great place to come where others truly understand where you are on this journey.
So, I'd like everyone to join hands, hum a few bars of Kumbaya, and re-unite in the fight against cancer.
Amen (lol)
Stacy<---hanging out here since 2003, diagnosed in 2001 @ age 33 with stage 4 with liver mets in 2001, been clear ever since!

Healing!
Great post, Stacy...or is it Stacey???
I don't think the feelings that have been generated on this board the last few days have been conducive to anyone's healing. As I have told the numerous children I have taught over the years...."Feel it and let it go." Harboring ill will toward others serves no healthy purpose. And our purpose here is to provide a healthy environment.
Love,
Kay...who BELIEVES in everything and everyone!!!0 -
Thank You
As I said on another post, a reasonable response is all we need and then let's move on. Thank you for putting this in perspective. I, for one, have needed this board the past week to get me through chemo reactions, nausea, fear, etc. That is why I come here.
The key word is respect.

Great post
Hi Stacy! I don't post here too much either,as I used to when I joined this wonderful group in 2006, but I come pretty often to look, and if I have something to tell that might help I post, otherwise I let as you said the "new regulars" to do it, in your post you expressed the same feelings that I have toward this situation, let's forget any hard feelings both ways and let us hold our hands like the wonderful family that we are. lots of hugs to everyone.0 -
Can we move on?
I was just wondering if this is really the forum I want to belong to. I just joined yesterday and am feeling that there is so much tension on here that I am not sure I want to be a part of it. I have enough on my plate and all I wanted was some advise and encouragement. Can't everybody just please put this issue behind and move on?

Hey Stacy! GROUP HUGS....
You are sorely missed here...
I miss the good ole' days of disputes about Cheetos, carrot juice and librarians. Oh, well... Perhaps Barbie and GI Joe really do need a vacation - maybe after a good rest things will simmer down. Either way, it's nice to see you chime in.
Looking forward to Key West - hope you will be there. Let's chat on the private side on that one.
As for the rest of us...LET'S LET IT GO!!! Enough already! This horse has been beat enough -let's not make such a horrible mess of the poor thing...
In the wise words of Rodney King, "People, I just want to say, you know, can we all get along? Can we get along? Can we stop making it, making it horrible for the older people and the kids?...It’s just not right. It’s not right. It’s not, it’s not going to change anything. We’ll, we’ll get our justice....Please, we can get along here. We all can get along. I mean, we’re all stuck here for a while. Let’s try to work it out. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to beat it. Let’s try to work it out."

Really, Cheryl...please...do come back. We have not put our best selves forward here the last few days, but this really is indeed a great place to come for support, advice and friendship. I'm sure this mess will simmer down, hopefully today, and we will rediscover the reason we're here and the positive things we offer freely to each other.
I've been to other online support groups and this is the one that helped me. I've met life long friends and even a husband here. It truly is a wonderful forum, but like anything, there is a natural ebb and flow here and at the moment we seem to have dammed up. Hopefully the positive force of friendship and shared experiences will wash away all this tension and we can get back to the business of support and healing.
Please, do give it some time...0 -

Hi,
Without getting into anything related to the subject of "the debate" anymore, I just want to say... that I am guilty of over-responding and probably saying a lot more than needed to be said on the subject (tends to be my personality- sorry!)
I love this site and am moving on.....!

Excellent post Stacy
Or is it Stacey????????????
I have offered up an official Kumbaya thread for you.
I can not believe how big your kids are getting!!!! I was kinda hoping to see Mojo too, I still remember your response to one of my original posts back in 2004 about him. I cherish our friendship and hope others on this board know that I would not have it if it weren't for this great site.
Hugs girlfriend and thanks for the chill pill!!!

I wondered where you were!
I wondered where you were! Good to hear from you. Monica0 -
So...
So, you still haven't splurged and bought the "e" to round-out your name, eh? You'd of thought that by now...
Anyway, I think the silver lining to all of this hullabaloo is that if this is what people have to get concerned about, then they must be doing pretty good! I hope so anyway. You know, if we could all just curl up on Sharon Osborne's couch it would all be OK. Just don't try to pet those yippy little dogs!
And I see that it was really YOU that started the whole Kumbaya thing - see my remarks to Scouty in her second Kumbaya post. So, we're hoping to see you in Key West this fall. Think you'll grace us with your presence? I know some good kareoke bars in town. Fact of the matter is, I now just about all of the bars in town.
Well, off to eat some Cheetos...
Love ya!

So glad to see you're doing well. Dude, that is one serious fish in your photo - looks like what we call a Nassau Grouper. What kind of fish is that? So what's up down under?
Be well, my friend... great to hear from you and very much enjoying your posts.

Well put
I agree. The ones who can't get over it should stay away. It's a cancer forum. I often bite my tongue but it started to bleed after too much biting. I will take that as a sign to take a break from now on. Being one of the "old timers" as a 5+ year living with cancer person, I feel I still have something to offer. At least that is what the feedback/comments I have gotten lead me to believe.
Hey, I know Kumbaya on the guitar! Congrats to being NED for so long.
Continued good health to you.
