ED therapy?

I am recovering very well from my Davinci of 2/5/09. My bladder control is returning rapidly. My erectile function is not returning so quickly. I have had 2 unsatisfactory experiences with my wife since. Taking viagra and such are not enough. My doc at City of Hope recommends the "Esteem" manual vacuum erection device (the pump). I'm thinking that this is like therapy to pull the meds into the key area to be effective. Insurance provides NO coverage, nor did they pay for any ED drugs. I am in favor of trying this thing out, I just wonder how other guys' experiences have been.?
Thanks, Rick

    ED pump
My insurance denied coverage on anything ED. The supplier gave me a "deal" $415.00 all inclusive, as compared to $525 with insurance. I won't get it until after we move to Montana. I won't need it until then anyway. We're so busy with the move, there's no time to get "pumped up". Best of health to all...

    Life after
    Aloha Johndeer,
I have a favorite tee shirt with an old John Deer tractor on it.
OK, It is good that you have desire/spark/libido. But the equipment is just not performing. With any PC treatment there is a risk that things will not go back to pre-treatment conditions. Most of us do not understand this when we opt for our treatment. Only when we miss what we had, does this reality sink in.
If you got the money, your probably going to spend it. Whether or not it does you any good, well that is a big IF. You could check out

This site is the place to ask questions, lotsa experience, lotsa men that been there & done that.
Mostly this is something that two people in love can and do work out.
    Faith, Hope, & Love,

    don't give up trying
like I said earlier I have a pump and it works. Last night was my first success without using it. One half of a Viagra and success at last, no pump just the two of us. I think keeping ones head in the game and a wondeful partner are neccessary. It's been about 6 months since my operation and worth the wait.

    Thanks fellas
That's hopeful for me to hear your experiences. We look forward to a better erection soon even if it's induced by machine and medicine. I believe thast some day soon we will be closer to normal. Moving to Montana this weekend, retired yesterday what could be better?

First of all good luck with
First of all good luck with the control. It realy has been, for me, a key element in a return to normalcy. The next big hurdle is a return to spontaneous sexual experiences. My date with the robot was on 9/30/08. I still have ed and with viagra can attain better than 50% erection. This is not good enough and I have resorted to the pump. It works but, to say the least, it is in no way spontaneous or easy to use. Still worth it though. I wish you the best possible recovery and, with you, hope that insurance coompanys start taking ed more seriously. I am a Vietnam Vet. and do get some help from them but I am having quite a bit of difficulty with their beaurocracy. Keep us all up to date. We all want to hear success stories as well as share problems.

    update
I posted my operation date wrong, it was in 08 not 09. Anyways things are still improving slowly. Any form of alcohol is a hinderance to an erection. I'm not shure if the pills (any brand) work all that well and hope to discontinue them some day. When all else fails it is still the pump that can be relied on. Spontenaity is out the window when you bring it into play, but it's better than a dry dream.
